I adhere to the Íø±¬ÃÅ Codes of Ethics and am fully insured.
I have learnt and continue to learn much about myself and others from my work in different settings (notably a GP practise, Women's Aid, a hospice and with women in custody). I am able to be sensitive to many different and difficult situations. In particular I think my work with women in custody has enhanced my practise in so many ways, particularly in widening my understanding of the complexities of human life. Being able to empathise with my client/s in some pretty challenging circumstances is critical.
Generally I am well used to working with, amongst many other complex issues, addictions, anxiety, depression, anger, loss , relationship and family issues. So many of these encompass a loss of self-confidence and self-esteem.

Practice description
I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space where my client and I can grapple with resolving their problem/s in a way that will give long-lasting relief. I draw on a combination of my extensive trainings and work to help.
My belief and experience shows me that somewhere deep down most of us know ourselves better than we think, but that we have along the way lost that self-belief which in turn leads to a lack of self-confidence, bad habits etc. Our work can include many dimensions, notably perhaps gaining more understanding of how the past has impacted your present, exploring ways you think about certain things and perhaps challenging some related maladaptive behaviours. Our work can also be very focussed on a particular aspect of your life where some astute problem-solving can be all that is needed.
Whatever you bring, I can offer short-term and long-term therapy to individuals and couples.
My first session
When you first contact me I will suggest we meet for an initial session either face to face or virtually (whichever suits you best), where we can discuss/explore what you need, I can tell you more fully about how I work, and what I can therefore offer, and then you can decide whether you would like to continue.

I have 25 years of experience working within different therapeutic settings, namely a GP practice, hospice, Victim Support, Women's Aid, and with women in custody to name a few.
The combination of working within a wide variation of settings has definitely widened my understanding of the complexities of human life. Being able to empathise with my client/s in some challenging circumstances is critical.
