About me and my therapy practice
I have been working as a therapist for over 25 years and in private practice since 2003.
My clients include adults, families, children, parents, couples, organisations, and schools
As a clinician, I am a System Practitioner who works with the whole person. (mind, body, & spirit) I consider all aspects of your life, which means that while I listen to your current concerns and your life history, I am also interested in the things in your environment that impact your life. Together, we embark on a journey of discovery to help you find the answers to life's challenges.
During my career as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I observed that many clients who come to see me have additional challenges that affect their physical (body) state. I now work not only with mental health issues but also with physical health.
I am also a Functional Medicine Health Coach who works with you to prevent lifestyle dis-ease. Looking at the root causes of your physical distress and working with you to restore health or prevent ill-health. Coaching is another discipline for well-being, and is available for clients who would like it to be included as part of the health recovery programme.
During the summer months, I offer a specialist trauma programme called Quick Change (QC). This is a one-week programme for clients who have suffered abuse and would like to overcome the effects of this traumatic event. (Please note this programme is not for clients who need extensive time to talk about it (i.e. talking therapies).
Organisational Interventions are available for work stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, and low staff morale.
Practice description
I provide a safe, non-judgmental space. I work respectfully with people and organisations. Everyone is unique, and therefore I do not believe that I should treat everyone in the same way. I offer a bespoke approach to individuals and organisations alike.
I work with relationship issues, stress management, depression, anxiety, anger, health worries, trauma and bereavement; and can be treated in individual and/or group settings.
When you contact me, you will be invited to a complimentary session, lasting up to half an hour, to discuss your needs and how I can support you.
My first session
The first session for many clients can feel a little scary/nervous, so when you come for your first session, we will focus on getting to know each other. This is also where you can ask questions about the process and about me.
We will also be completing the intake forms and initial assessments.
The session duration is one hour, and this will also apply to your subsequent sessions going forward.

About me and my therapy practice
About Me
As an experience senior Therapist and Supervisor I believe that clinical supervision plays a vital role for my practice. It help to sharpen the saw, in that it enhances my work with my clients, keep me accountable and supports me and my clients to get the best. It is also good for ethical practice.
My Experience
Since 2008 my experience as a supervisor of other counsellors while running a counselling agency for children and young people, as well as individual supervision as an approved supervisor for PTUK (Play Therapy UK) and a co-supervisory role while working as a senior lecture on the Diploma in Counselling. These various roles have given me a love for helping others to grow and develop.
Practice description
I view supervision as a source for restorative support, Educative (CPD), and looking closely at their clinical practice
In private practice I continue to provide supervision to individual therapists who are running their own private practice. I am also available to provide supervision for developing counsellors in their agency settings and work settings. Supervision is also available to students on a counsellor training course.
Supervision is also available for groups of four people at a time and is available both face to face and online.
As a Systemic Practitioner and also trained in the creative arts, my approach to supervision is to use both approached to enables the supervisee to widen the lens and gain a wider perspective on their client and the work they are doing.
As an Educator I also provide short CPD course for supervisees who have a thirst for learning.
I draw on the ethical code of conduct for Íø±¬ÃÅ and the Association of Family Therapy.
The therapeutic relationship is fundamental to growth development, therefore I take time to review the work and therapeutic relationship each year to ensure that supervision is satisfactory for those who work with me.

During the first session the supervisee will be asked to complete a profile of their learning, training and experience.
We will also discuss goals and expectations; and discuss the terms of our agreement.
