About me and my therapy practice
There is a lot of information on my profile and it can seem a bit overwhelming, so before you read on, what you might want to know is I am open, honest, warm and with a calming quality I am told really helps clients to feel a little calmer in my presence.
Able to offer a blend of modalities tailored to each individual and their needs, having trained both Psychodynamically (very similar to psychotherapy) and Integratively, which means I have a lot of tools in my toolbox to help with a wide range of mental and emotional difficulties. My niche is long term support dedicated to helping clients with complicated trauma which may include PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Psychosomatic Illness, Dissociation as well as many other presenting, distressing symptoms. My developed style of delivery of counselling help is not strictly psychodynamic, using a more person centred approach generally. Empathic understanding, Congruence (genuineness) and Unconditional Positive Regard (Non-Judgmental position) being at the heart of my approach. Supporting clients over periods ranging from 6 sessions for specific struggles such as short term social anxiety, to a number of years and everything in between.
Offering warmth and experience gained working with issues such as trauma, childhood trauma including abuse, low self-esteem, self-harm, depression, generalised anxiety disorder, separation anxiety, health anxiety, psychosomatic illness and pain, bereavement and loss. I have felt privileged to have been entrusted to help so many people to regain control over their mental, emotional and physical well being over the last 13 years.
Age range of clients from 13 to 76 years and have been diverse in gender, culture, creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical and learning ability.
Worked with people diagnosed with ADHD and Autism and successfully referred clients who benefitted from having an assessment for ADHD/Autism.
Practice description
Whatever you are looking for help with, regardless of what I have training in, what you might want to know is whether I have experience of working with the issue you are currently suffering with.
Everything I have listed on my profile are areas I have worked with historically and what I have found is people tend to come to me mostly for issues connected with historical sexual abuse, sexual assault, mental and emotional abuse. I see people with a range of anxiety levels, depression and suicidal ideation, self-harm both historical and current. Bereavement, especially that suffered in childhood but also in adulthood and various forms of neurodiversity previously referred to as ADHD and Autism, including advice regarding whether someone may benefit from an assessment.
Having experience of working with people from many diverse backgrounds, I offer an honest but sensitive and reliable counselling service which is primarily a talking therapy but also providing some other interventions to help where appropriate. These may include CBT worksheets, creative interventions such as visualisation, empty chair techniques, sand play, and many more and all of which I have previously engaged with when helping clients who may need more than talking alone.
I have a counselling room separate from my home in my garden, accessed through a side gate, along a passageway, and also separate from the garden itself. Alternatively, if you prefer, I offer online sessions over zoom, WhatsApp or FaceTime.
Whether you are looking for help with trust issues, loss, struggles with lying, faithfulness, therapy can help.
Feelings of abandonment, BPD, DID, dependent personality, or avoidant personality. Anxiety, depression, gender identity confusion acceptance. Older people struggling with retirement, physical changes, loneliness, all areas I can help with.
Help for stress, OCD and intrusive thoughts, addictions, family issues, bereavement including losing loved ones due to violence and trauma.

The assessment is designed to ascertain what form of therapy will best suit your needs, what you are looking for and to answer any questions you may have about therapy including costs.
The assessment also gives us both the opportunity to gauge how well suited we are for a therapist/client relationship, since it is central to the work we will be embarking upon together to help you realise your goals and or heal the pain you have been suffering mentally, emotionally, physically.
If you would like to discuss your needs before deciding whether to proceed with the assessment, I will be happy to chat informally regarding your situation and discuss how I may be able to support you.

About me and my therapy practice
I have a level 6 (CBCT Ltd) Certificate in Counselling Supervision, Accredited by OCN London.
Working with other professionals is quite different from working therapeutically with clients and brings a new dimension to my working life which I enjoy very much.
I offer a good historical bank of knowledge, helping other counsellors with their client work with the emphasis on us working together to work out how to best support and progress the work with clients.
My Supervision practice is informed by the Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Guidance and the 7 Eyed model of Supervision, the one most often used by Supervisors.
As an Integrative Counsellor, initially trained in Psychodynamic Counselling, consideration of unconscious processes is ever present in the work we would be doing together.
My approach: We are two professionals working to a common purpose in service of the client. You are key to this process and I will also pay attention to what is going on for you in support of you and your practice.
There is an educational aspect to supervision for those newly qualified as counsellors. Those who've been in practice a while would also benefit, as have I, because keeping an open mind for us to learn mutually is also a part of what supervision can offer.
Challenging where it might further growth, we will work together discovering different ways of thinking to mobilise client work from fresh perspectives.
I will actively encourage you to give me feedback because the more open we can be in this professional space, the more we will enrich the experience, enhancing opportunities for learning and growth which is always with your clients in mind.
If this sounds like the way you would like to experience supervision, please send me an initial enquiry and we can go from there.
