About me and my therapy practice
Starting therapy is an important first step in exploring who you are and what you are feeling. With over 26 years of qualified work experience, I specialise in sexual assault/abuse, PTSD, relationship issues-couples, families or individuals- including LGBTQIA+ issues and adolescents.
I can help you develop an understanding of yourself and others, and provide you with the support to work on the issues you face, facilitating positive change. It is a way of reducing any confusion and enabling choice; it is not about forcing you to take a particular course of action.
Confidentiality, discretion and respect are of paramount importance to me, and my approach is friendly and down-to-earth. I am an Integratively trained Counsellor which means I draw upon relevant theory and techniques to tailor to each individual.
Practice description
In my practice, I offer an initial free, up to 30 minute assessment appointment. This is an opportunity to meet me and discuss whether continued counselling would be appropriate to your needs and therefore it is without obligation to continue. This can be via the phone or on Teams.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I abide by the Íø±¬ÃÅ ethical framework for best practice. All work is fully insured. I am also a qualified CPCAB Clinical Supervisor and an Accredited Member of The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.
I am an Advanced COSRT Couples Therapist and enjoy working with the varying dynamics within relationships.
Over the years I have helped people to overcome a wide range of difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours and have witnessed positive changes, with clients making life choices that work for them.
My first session
As a therapist, I aim to be as neutral as possible, The way I work is based on the notion that the past can affect your experiences and feelings in the present, along with the idea that important relationships, perhaps from early childhood, may create a pattern for how you respond to people later on in life.
We will often assess emotions, thoughts, early-life experiences, and beliefs to gain more understanding into your present-day problems. We will also highlight patterns which may be recurring, this could help you to see the ways in which you and/or your partner may be avoiding difficult situations or to see defence mechanisms you may have developed as a way of coping. In doing so, you will be able to take steps towards changing and challenging those patterns, thoughts, and behaviours either as an individual or as a couple.
All you need is a sense that something needs to be explored. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or just carrying too much, I’ll meet you with warmth, respect, and care.

About me and my therapy practice
Supervision is a collaborative space, that helps to hold you in your work. As a practicing therapist of 26 years, I know how important it is to find a supervisor who feels like a "good fit." Which is why I offer a free 30 min Teams appointment, in order to meet me.
I have been working for 9 years with counsellors using different therapeutic models, in various settings - schools, GP surgeries, student services, the voluntary sector and in private practice.
I'm a COSRT Advanced Couples Therapist and offer supervision for those working with couples. Another speciality is working with trauma/PTSD/sexual abuse.
I'm warm, approachable, authentic and dynamic in my supervisory work.
Practice description
I see the role of Supervisor as providing a ‘third’ perspective to the relationship of the Counsellor and client. I enjoy working with a range of supervisees and their different needs, clients, settings and roles. I aim to provide a trusting and safe environment for the supervisee to explore their individual style of counselling, and how to take care of themselves.
Working alongside colleagues, I am able to offer a space to reflect, and a safe and appropriately challenging setting. I hope to support counsellors to both enjoy and feel contained by our work together.
Fundamentally I believe clinical supervision should be an honest and creative experience for both supervisee and supervisor, I have extensive experience in working with counsellors with varying levels of experience - from trainee counsellors to therapists who have been in practice for many years. I very much enjoy the potential therapeutic creativity working as a supervisor.
My first session
Your first session will involve us getting to know each other and to discuss your supervision needs as well as thinking through any individual cases or challenges you might need help with. To this end, I provide a brief questionnaire that encourages you to think about your supervisory needs.
I also welcome you to bring any personal or professional development enquiries, such as courses you might be interested in, which we can explore together. and have an opportunity to discuss any new legislations or updated news relevant to therapy.
