About me and my therapy practice
I offer flexible person-centred counselling and come from a back ground of Outdoor Experiential Education and Emergency Paramedicine.
I strive to find the compassionate, safe, effective space to help each and everyone who seeks a space to explore ways to live well.
Practice description
I am a certified counsellor with a formal qualification in Post-graduate Person-centred Couselling from Persona, Edinburgh. I studied this after a diverse background in Experiential Outdoor Education in the Lake District, Scotland and with Colorado Outward Bound, giving me a great breadth of experience in supporting people in a variety of settings.
I have since worked in a remote island community as a GP counsellor and psychotherapist, before moving into my most recent experience of training and working as a Paramedic in the ambulance service in Devon. I have also worked in a hospice, providing empathetic support to those at the end of their lives, and I have trained as a midwife, giving me additional skills in supporting vulnerable women undergoing life-changing experiences.
My counselling practice provides a safe, trustworthy space in which to explore the issues and concerns which may no longer be helpful and this I will do with warmth, empathy and compassion. My goal is to facilitate people to thrive.
Please get in touch and we can discuss how we can work together to flourish.
Weekends, evenings and remote contact can be arranged at request.
My first session
Our first meeting will be to discover if we can work well together. This is best face to face, I find, but if this is impossible we can discuss alternatives.
