About me and my therapy practice
I'm Kathy, a qualified and experienced Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Coach with a background in private practice, NHS and schools. I have extensive experience working with young people and adults, supporting them with challenges such as anxiety, stress, neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, Autism, dyslexia and tourettes syndrome; family issues, relationship problems, trauma, gender identity, bullying, friendship issues and depression.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, like your head is a messy ball of wool that's hard to untangle. You might find yourself zoning out and struggling to process emotions, or feeling the weight of masking just to "fit in". It can take a toll on your relationships and leave you searching for some stability in a world that is often chaotic. You don't have to navigate this alone. In our sessions, we'll work together to help you figure it out, build strategies that support your needs, and create space for you to feel grounded and truly yourself.
My Approach
I take an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic models that include integrative, person-centred, psychodynamic, mindfulness and neuro-linguistic programming depending on your unique needs.
My work is collaborative and grounded in respect and compassion. Together, we explore current challenges, deepen your self-awareness, and gently uncover any patterns or barriers that may be holding you back.
I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore the issues that may be weighing you down. Clients often share that they feel deeply listened to, genuinely cared for, and understood.
Practice description
I offer face-to-face counselling sessions in Twickenham and online via secure platforms such as MS Teams or by phone, whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Counselling and Psychotherapy for Adults
I offer one-to-one support for a wide range of issues, which may stem from a recent or past experience, or a situation you're coming to terms with. You might be navigating challenges such as work-related stress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, family concerns, or bullying, and feel that counselling can support you.
Counselling for Teens/Young People
Young people often experience a wide range of emotions in response to challenges such as bereavement, sibling rivalry, bullying, self-harm, low self-esteem, gender identity, neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, Autism, dyslexia, tourette's syndrome; friendship dynamics, confidence, school or exam stress, and family difficulties. Young people express themselves in many different ways, often not just through words. In my work, I use a variety of creative and age-appropriate tools to help young people feel safe, engage meaningfully, and express what’s troubling them in ways that feel natural to them.
A notice period of 48 hours is required to cancel sessions.
My first session
Taking the first step in counselling can be daunting and bring up different feelings. I offer a free 20-minute consultation for you to ask any questions, talk about the counselling process and get a feel for me as a therapist.
Once you’ve made contact, we can arrange a time for an initial counselling assessment session, which will be 50 minutes. This allows you space to talk about what has brought you to counselling and helps me gain a clearer understanding of your situation and the key issues you'd like to explore. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions and learn more about how I work, so we can decide together whether it feels like the right fit. We think about the key issues you'd like to explore and what you would like to be different at the end of counselling.

Availability
I am available for face-to-face, online or phone supervision with trainee counsellors through to qualified and experienced counsellors. I offer group supervision.
About me and my therapy practice
As an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor working with both young people and adults, I offer Clinical Supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors who support these age groups.
My approach to supervision is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to your individual stage of training and professional development. At the heart of our work is an authentic, trusting relationship where we can safely explore the conscious and unconscious dynamics that emerge within your client work.
Supervision with me is not a one-size-fits-all model. You bring your unique self and experience into your counselling practice, and our work together will reflect that.
I aim to create a safe, reflective space that fosters your clinical confidence, insight and self-awareness, while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. Your well-being as a practitioner is always an integral part of the supervisory process, and forms an important aspect of the work we do together.
Practice description
As an Integrative Supervisor, I draw from a range of therapeutic models to support reflective, ethical, and effective practice.
I offer both individual and group supervision, with concessions available for counsellors in training, and I work face-to-face and online.
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from the Minster Centre, London - one of Europe’s leading institutes for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
My first session
The first session is about getting to know you and understanding what you would like to get out of supervision. We think about any questions you have about the process or in general. If you would like to proceed, we will make a contract around supervision that includes the timings, frequency of supervision sessions and the boundaries of the work.
