About me and my therapy practice
If you鈥檙e feeling anxious, stuck, or overwhelmed, you don鈥檛 have to go through this alone. You don鈥檛 need to have the 鈥渞ight words鈥 鈥 just come as you are.
Life can bring challenges that feel too heavy to manage by yourself 鈥 whether it鈥檚 a difficult relationship or the weight of past experiences. Perhaps its living by rules, beliefs, or expectations that don鈥檛 serve you but cause distress, or a sense that something just isn鈥檛 right.
Together we can explore whats happening for you. My role is to offer empathy, attentiveness, and a confidential space where you can be truly heard 鈥 perhaps for the first time. We work together to help you come to terms with experiences, look at ways of managing difficult symptoms or find ways of making changes you want and move towards a life that feels freer and more authentic.
What I help with:
I鈥檓 a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches and tailor them to you as an individual.
I work with adults on both a short- and long-term basis, supporting people through a wide range of issues, including:
鈥 Anxiety, stress, and depression
鈥 Low self-esteem, feeling stuck or lost in life
鈥 Grief, loss, and life transitions
鈥 Relationship difficulties (partners, family, friends, colleagues)
鈥 Recovery from narcissistic or emotionally abusive relationships
鈥 Trauma, PTSD, and the impact of childhood abuse or domestic violence
鈥 Anger and emotional regulation
鈥 Postnatal depression
鈥 Infertility and living a childless life
鈥 Coping with chronic illness or long-term health conditions
鈥 Bullying and workplace stress
What to expect in sessions
Our first session is a chance for you to talk about what鈥檚 happening in your life right now and what you鈥檇 like from therapy. Many people find relief simply in being listened to without judgment. From there, we can gain an idea of what we might work with together to make the difference you want.
Practice description
I trained in the Relational model, this uses our experience of past relationships and relational patterns to make sense of our current ones. Understanding our relationships, including our relationship with ourself and the therapeutic relationship, gives us chance to shape them in a way that better meets our needs and causes less emotional distress. Relational counselling also uses the warmth, genuineness and acceptance of person centred counselling. I blend this approach with other therapy styles including transactional analysis, CBT, IAPT Counselling for Depression, solution-focussed approach and compassion focussed therapy so we can work in a way that best suits your needs.
I work from a pleasant, modern city centre location that has great public transport links and easy parking options.
I offer online counselling as well as face to face counselling.
