Practice description
People usually seek out a counsellor when they are experiencing a problem or worry that they need support with. A counsellor is a trained professional who listens and supports without judgement. A counsellor can help you to explore the things that trouble you, so that together you can find options and solutions that might help.
Counselling is a confidential service and sessions usually occur at the same time weekly. There is not set number of sessions any person needs, instead we can review and discuss as we work together to decide the best options for your individual needs.
I offer traditional talk therapy alongside creativity. Play and creativity are a natural medium for children to explore their feelings and so when working with children I use games, sand tray therapy and art and crafts to explore feelings and worries.
Adults and adolescents can also benefit from engaging with their creativity, but not everyone feels comfortable doing so. So, I can also offer more traditional talking therapy if this is what you would prefer. I also offer walk and talk therapy and home visits. And there is always the option to have my trained therapy dog in the session too!
My first session
I offer an introductory rate of £30 for an initial meeting.
During this meeting, we will explore together the reasons you are seeking therapy and you will be able to learn more about how I work. Once we have met, you will then have an opportunity to go away to think about whether you would like to begin working with me. If you decide to start counselling sessions with me, we can explore times and days together to make a plan for what works for you.
