About me and my therapy practice
Do you long for a quiet mind that doesn't over-think and over-analyse every conversation you've had or choice you've made?
Are you caring and compassionate to everyone except yourself?
If you are outwardly functioning but looking for a way to feel less anxious and more confident about who you are, and what you want from life, I'm here to help.
I offer short and longer-term online therapy to help people manage anxiety and stress, overcome low mood, and boost confidence and self-esteem.
I’m a therapist and coach working with evidence-based approaches – and I have personal experience that they work and can turn your life around! I know what it's like to struggle with perfectionism, anxiety and self-doubt while outwardly seeming successful. I believe that changing your relationship with yourself is the key to achieving peace of mind, and flourishing in all aspects of life, including relationships, career and physical health.
My training and qualifications cover human relationships and development, the influence of lifestyle on mental health, and how our thinking habits and core beliefs influence our self-image and experience of life. I am committed to ongoing training and personal development.
Before training as a therapist I had a long career in the media and still work as a freelance writer. Many of my clients come from the media and creative professions (but not all!)
You've worked hard to reach your goals and achieve in life. You've given and continue to give a lot of yourself to others. Now it's time to invest in yourself - you deserve to find peace of mind and contentment.
Practice description
I currently offer sessions ONLINE ONLY. My clients come from all over the UK - I also work with British clients currently living abroad.
The heart of all the work I do is understanding how past events may be impacting current behaviour, experiences and relationships. We also work on changing the relationship you have with yourself by developing self-acceptance and self-compassion. I often use CBT and ACT-based approaches to shift unhelpful thinking patterns, and coaching to help you connect with your core values and personal strengths.
I work with individuals aged 21 and over who are functioning but feel that life could be better, or who are seeking greater self-knowledge or understanding of why they feel or act in a certain way. I currently do not work with couples. If you are looking for help overcoming serious abuse, trauma or debilitating mental health conditions, or if you are actively suicidal, I would advise you to seek a specialist therapist.
