About me and my therapy practice

I’m an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist specialising in three main areas: supporting women with infertility/fertility challenges; helping them with their search for a fulfilling relationship; and navigating big life transitions.

Infertility and Fertility Challenges

Trying to conceive can be emotionally exhausting, and often it’s not an easy process - physically or emotionally. I work with women navigating all aspects of fertility struggles, including IVF, miscarriage, medical interventions, pregnancy after loss or treatment, and the isolating grief that often accompanies fertility uncertainty.

Therapy for Building Fulfilling, Committed Relationships

I support women who are struggling to find and develop the kind of long-term relationship they truly want. If you find it hard to meet the right kind of person, don’t have the confidence to truly be yourself, keep attracting unavailable or unsuitable partners, find dating draining and difficult, or have other challenges that relate to finding the right partner for you, I may be able to help you explore the reasons why and work towards changing things.

Therapy for Navigating Life Transitions

I also work with women helping them to deal with significant life transitions such as a shift in identity, a change in circumstances, or a period of loss or uncertainty. This might include, changing careers, ending a relationship, becoming a mother, losing a loved one, relocating to/from abroad, entering perimenopause or menopause, facing the prospect of not having children, and more.

Other Areas of Experience

In addition to my specialty areas as a therapist, I have many years of experience working with men and women on a wide range of other issues including: depression, anxiety, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, feeling empty or unfulfilled, feeling sad, dealing with stress, and work issues.

If you are interested in working with me on any of these issues, please get in touch.

Practice description

How I Work

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic tools and approaches in my work. This enables me to focus on the individual client in front of me and personalise my approach to suit you and your needs. Beyond this, some other things worth noting about my approach are:

  • I am there to understand you and what you are facing, and to be alongside you - helping you navigate your way through it with empathy.
  • I am down-to-earth in my approach, and I try to avoid 'therapy speak'.
  • I am supportive and encouraging, and I gently challenge when it's appropriate to help move the therapy forward.
  • I am interested in working with you on issues both big and small, going as deep as you are ready and able to.
  • I listen to my clients and am always open to feedback.
  • And of course, I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for clients to share and open up.

So if this sounds like what you are looking for in a therapist, get in touch and we can arrange a first session together. I am happy to have a short discussion with you on the phone first too if you prefer.

My first session

The initial session I have with clients is a bit like an assessment session, where we can find out whether we would be a good fit to work together.

I will gather some basic information about you and ask you a bit about your reasons for wanting to start therapy. I will explain a bit about the way I work and answer any questions you might have. And hopefully as a result of that session, you can decide if you feel comfortable with me and want to go ahead with therapy.
