About me and my therapy practice

Life can bring moments that feel difficult to manage alone. With twenty years experience as a counsellor, I offer a space where you can pause, reflect and explore your feelings with understanding and care.

My aim is to offer a warm, safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever’s going on for you, at your own pace. I see counselling as a shared journey — a space where you can be heard, understood, and supported as you make sense of your experiences and move towards acceptance and positive change.

I’m a humanistic integrative counsellor, drawing on Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis (TA) approaches as part of my pluralistic way of working. This means I tailor therapy to meet your individual needs, using different methods depending on what feels most helpful for you. Alongside my core approach, I may also integrate CBT, brief therapy, and EMDR when appropriate.

Practice description

I completed my core counselling training in in 2006 I have worked as a counsellor in the NHS, private practice and for charities. I have a specialist interest in bereavement and trauma, as well as pregnancy, postnatal depression, and anxiety. I’ve spent the past ten years working in the NHS as a maternity counsellor, supporting people through loss, birth trauma, and the emotional transitions that can come with becoming a parent.

I also teach counselling Level 4 in a local college and have students on placement within my NHS role. I  enjoy working with student counsellors offering a reflective and supportive space for personal and professional development.

I can see you in person in my therapy room in the village of Corfe Castle, online or by telephone call. I also offer a walk and talk service as some clients prefer to explore their thoughts whilst connecting to nature. Many people find that being outdoors helps them feel more grounded, calm and open during therapy.

Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or simple need space to reflect and make sense of things, I'll work with you to create an environment where you feel heard, accepted and supported.

About me and my therapy practice

I have worked as a clinical supervisor since 2010. I have a CPCAB Level 6 certificate in Supervision.

Supervision is a real passion of mine. I particularly love working alongside students and newly qualified counsellors as they find their voice and confidence in practice, and I aim to offer a collaborative, supportive, and reflective space where all counsellors can explore their work safely and grow.

My approach is humanistic and integrative, drawing on Person-Centred, Transactional Analysis, and pluralistic principles, always underpinned by the Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Framework.

With twenty years of experience working as a counsellor, including extensive work in the NHS as a maternity counsellor, I bring a deep understanding of trauma, bereavement, loss, and perinatal mental health. I have a genuine interest in supporting both new and experienced practitioners to develop their therapeutic identity.
