About me and my therapy practice
My approach is grounded in Gestalt therapy, which is relational, experiential and focused on awareness in the present moment. I see counselling as a collaborative process, where we explore together what's happening for you - in your thoughts, emotions, body and relationships - and how these experiences connect to your wider life story.
Gestalt therapy invites curiosity about how we meet the world and how we might create new possibilities for ourselves. I believe that change begins with awareness - noticing patterns, feelings and ways of relating that may once have helped survive, but now feel limiting or painful. Through gentle exploration and support, new understanding and choices can emerge.
I bring warmth, empathy and authenticity to my work. I value creativity and may draw on imagery, movement or metaphor where this feels useful, always at your pace and with your consent. My aim is to offer a space where you can feel met and accepted as you are, and where what feels difficult can be held safely and explored with compassion.
I have particular experience supporting people through grief, bereavement, loss and life transitions, as well as those exploring gender identity, gender diversity and the impact of social and relational change. Whether you are facing the death someone close, a major life shift, or a journey of self-discovery, our work together can help you reconnect with your sense of self, resilience and the capacity for growth.
Sessions are available online and in person and I welcome adults of all genders and identities.
Practice description
My practice offers a calm, supportive space where you can bring whatever feels important - whether that's grief, loss, anxiety, identity, or change or a general sense that something in life isn't sitting right. I am to create an atmosphere of warmth, respect and curiosity where you can feel safe enough to be honest, uncertain or simply yourself.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my grounded and gentle approach. I don't offer quick fixes or advice - instead, I work to help you explore your experience in the here and now and deepen your understanding of yourself. This might mean noticing patterns that keep repeating, exploring feelings that are hard to name, or finding ways to express what's been held inside for too long.
I'm attentive to what unfolds between us in the therapy room, as our relationship can mirror and reveal aspects of your wider experience. I see this awareness as an opportunity for insight and grown, handled with care and sensitivity.
My practice is inclusive and affirming. I am experienced working with people around bereavement, grief and life transitions as well as gender identity and gender diversity. I understand that navigating these experiences can involve deep emotion, courage and complexity, and I aim to meet each person with openness and respect for their individual story.
You can expect me to be present, engaged and responsive. I'll bring warmth, humanity and gentle challenge when it feels appropriate - always working alongside you as we explore your process together.
