About me and my therapy practice
Supervision details
I have been supervising Counsellors and Psychotherapists for more than 20 years in a variety of settings within the NHS, Education, Charitable Organisations and Private Practice. I bring a flexible and collegiate approach to my supervisory relationships offering a relaxed and supportive environment for Counsellors and Psychotherapists to explore the work they are doing with their clients. My view is that the supervision space must provide the space and safety to explore the positive and challenging aspects of our practice to best support our clients and ourselves.
Additionally, I have a good understanding of the needs of students in placement as I work as a Clinical Manager supporting counselling students in training or therapists who are recently qualified.
I also have an interest in working with individuals who do not have English as a first language.
I use Proctor's three function interactive model as the core approach to my Supervision work. The Normative, Formative and Restorative (management, learning and support) elements of this model ensure that each supervision session meets your specific needs. My approach is also informed by the 7-eyed model of supervision, developed by Peter Hawkins and Robin Shohet.
I have a British Psychological Society Approved Certificate in Clinical Supervision, SDS Accreditation in Clinical Supervision Level 2 (Assessed Academic Competence) SDS Accreditation in Clinical Supervision.
I offer Clinical Supervision for individuals and small groups. Supervisor Collaboration is at the centre of my work whilst recognising the importance of supervisor's role is understood ethically, whilst ensuring the Normative, Formative and Restorative needs are all being met within the ethical framework.
My practice offers a dedicated and safe space for practitioners to bring any aspect of their work where we collaboratively ensure continued professional and personal development.
