PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. I trained at the Metanoia Institute and have an MSc and Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy Counselling.
Transactional Analysis is an integrative, comprehensive approach covering all the major traditions with a humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive therapy approach.
PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION AND MEMBERSHIP
I am an accredited member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MÍø±¬ÃÅ) and a member of the Metanoia Institute.
PROFESSIONAL GUIDELINES AND CODE OF ETHICS
I honour the Code of Ethics and follow the professional guidelines of the UKCP and Íø±¬ÃÅ.MY EXPERIENCE.
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with over 15 years experience working in private practice and almost twenty years experience working as a therapist.
I have had seventeen years experience working within a mental health setting. Whilst training I worked as a psychotherapist within the NHS. I have facilitated groups for depression, anxiety and anger management.

WHY ATTEND COUNSELLING/PSYCHOTHERAPY - HOW CAN IT HELP AND WHAT BENEFITS MIGHT YOU EXPECT?
I have experience working within a broad range of areas. Sometimes people seek counselling with specific problems they wish to address, other with a more general sense of low self confidence, depression, generalised anxiety, stress or relationship issues, family issues or communication difficulties. When we are busy or feeling a little overwhelmed it can be difficult to take the time to prioritise ourselves and take time to focus on our mental health, which is as equally important as our physical health.
I offer both short term and long term counselling for individuals and couples seeking support within a confidential, safe, non-judgemental space. Offering an opportunity for you to explore and develop a greater understanding of difficulties you may be experiencing and any underlying issues which might be having an impact on your life today and how to make positive changes in your life.

HOW TO BOOK AN INITIAL ASSESSMENT APPOINTMENT?
If you have any questions or you would like to book an initial assessment I can be contacted by either email or telephone. I always recommend that we arrange a time for a brief discussion prior to arranging an appointment.
An initial assessment appointment gives us both an opportunity to meet and to decide how we might work together and what might be the best support for you. Therapy might be something that you have started to consider recently or you may have been thinking about for a while. It is extremely important to feel that the therapist you chose is the right person for you. If you book an initial assessment appointment it gives us an opportunity to meet. It is important for you to feel comfortable and trust that you are able to work with your chosen therapist and can build a good therapeutic alliance.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE FIRST SESSION.
There will be an overview of how we will work together and I will explain my confidentiality policy. We will look at what brings you to therapy. Some clients will have clear aims, don't worry if you are not sure what they might be, that will be part of the work and something that we can explore together.
