About me and my therapy practice

This service offers a range of therapies from Counselling to Play Therapy for adults, young people and children in Cornwall with a practitioner qualified in both talking and play/creative arts therapy. Additional services are available such as Parent-and-Child work, informed by Theraplay (R), Filial Play Coaching and DDP, all at varying stages of development.

Supervision is offered for Counselling and Psychotherapy  for Child, Adolescent and Adult work, talking, play and creative arts therapies, for trainees and qualified practitioners, including reflective practice supervision for youth and charity workers.  My supervision work is also trauma, neurodiversity and  attachment informed, including the differences between clients, supervisees and supervisors.

As a  PTLLS level 4 trainer, therapists, students and charities are also being supported with training/CPD events. These include child therapy, neurodiversity adaptions to child and adult therapy, play therapy, adding creative arts to talking therapy.

Concessionary rates are available, please contact me.

Practice description

I have a wide experience across many client issues, as well as across the ages, as a dually trained and qualified Counsellor and Certified Play Therapist.  My work is informed by attachment, diversity, including neurodiversity, parenting experiences, parent/carer-child work, trauma and relational/social client experiences.

Likewise my supervision work is informed by the same and includes working with differences and diversity between clients, supervisee and supervisor.

I also do some training work, mostly about adding creative aspects to counselling, adding child and young people work to adult counsellors and adding neurodiversity awareness and adaptations to counselling and play/child/adolescent therapy.

I contribute to three panels for play therapy standards (CPTA), neurodiversity adaptations (PDA) and EDI (PTUK).

My first session

My initial enquiry session is free of charge. For counselling/play and creative arts therapy, I usually use standard assessment tools as well as my own assessment. These help monitor my work and can be reviewed at the middle and end of a piece of therapy work to help observe changes.

In supervision, I offer my supervision information sheets and a supervision contract. I regularly offer reviews of our work and a Supervision Personalisation questionnaire to help guide me to tailor my supervision service to your needs.

About me and my therapy practice

I qualified as a counsellor in 2010 and as a Certified Play Therapist in 2013. In Supervision, I originally trained at post graduate level in supervising post graduate play therapists, trainees and qualified, working with them since 2016. I have added a post grad qualification in Supervising Child, Adolescent and Adult Counselling and Psychotherapy, in 2019. My further experience includes working with trainees at a counselling college, qualified counsellors, an emotional trauma charity, working in supervision across the ages. This includes qualified counsellors on a level 5 course regarding child therapy and other therapists working with children, adolescents and adults.  I also provide reflective practice supervision for non-clinical youth workers or other charity staff.

Practice description

I offer supervision for counsellors and therapists who work with child, adolescent or adult clients, including reflective practice for non-clinical workers.

I work integratively using seven supervision models, which can be illustrated in my information materials, and relationally with a core person and child-centred approach and have specialisms in trauma and neurodiversity.

My first session

In our initial session, which is free of charge, we can meet in person or online to discuss how we may work together. I can provide the paperwork and information so we can see how our working contract will suit the work.
