About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative therapist, this means that I combine a variety of theories and approaches to meet the individual needs of each client.
I also work holistically, this means taking into account your lifestyle and wider circumstances.
My aim to to provide a safe and comfortable space for you to express and understand your thoughts and feelings. Through awareness, a positive therapeutic relationship and learning new skills you will get to know yourself better and be empowered to make meaningful and sustainable change to improve your mental health.
My practice is open to people of all genders and sexual orientations as well as folks from cultures and backgrounds different to my own (white British); I run a culturally competent practice and you are welcome here.
Practice description
In our counselling sessions you should expect to feel listened to and understood. But I am not a blank slate neither will I simply nod along to what you say; I am here to provide insight, different perspectives and new skills for you to try.
The way I work is relational; it's through a good working alliance that we can journey together through whatever struggles you're facing. I am not the expert on your life but a fellow traveller through life, with some expertise that I can share as we make sense of your unique story.
Coming to therapy is a bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle - you give me the pieces and together we create a clear picture of what is going on. From this place of insight you can decide how to move forward.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute assessment session to check we are a good fit, for me to get a sense of what you want to achieve in therapy and for you to ask any questions you might have.
