About me and my therapy practice

Welcome.

I’m Rachel, a trauma-informed therapist offering EMDR, TFCBT, and IPT to adults seeking support with trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I provide a warm, confidential space where you can feel safe to explore what’s troubling you and begin to move forward.

I work with people from all walks of life and specialise in trauma presentations, including PTSD and Complex PTSD. My approach is focused and responsive, I aim to help you get to grips with what’s going in an effective and time-conscious manner by offering clarity and progress from the outset.

My clinical experience spans the NHS, private practice, and national charities. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and an accredited therapist, committed to delivering high-quality, ethical care.

I have considerable experience with occupational trauma and  support individuals in high-pressure roles, including those in emergency services and military settings. I understand the impact that demanding professional environments can have on mental health, and the barriers that often exist around seeking support. I offer a discreet, respectful service where confidentiality is paramount, and your experiences are met with understanding and professionalism.

Practice description

I work online which offers maximum flexibility and face to face in Harrogate. 

I use approaches that are grounded in research and proven to help people recover and grow:

• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) helps process traumatic memories and reduce emotional distress.

• TFCBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is a structured, trauma-sensitive approach for PTSD and CPTSD.

• IPT (Interpersonal Psychotherapy) is an evidence-based treatment for depression and trauma that focuses on relationships and emotional patterns. It’s especially helpful for those who prefer a non-exposure-based approach to trauma recovery.

Therapy with me is collaborative and paced to suit your needs. I offer both weekly sessions and intensive formats for those who prefer to work more deeply over a shorter period of time.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation as a meet & greet. 

I understand that you may have a lot of questions and need to feel at ease with the process. 

If I am the right person to help you, our first session will seek to get a better picture of how we can work together to get results quickly.
