About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor, hypnotherapist and supervisor. I have been working with adults in mental health for 20 years, helping them to overcome many different mental health and emotional challenges.
My experience to date has enabled me to work with a vast range of issues. These include relationship issues, anger, bullying, sexuality, LGBT+, self-esteem, self-confidence, bad habits, depression (and generally feeling low), identity and anxiety issues, improving communication skills as well as survivors of sexual abuse.
My practice has been informed by my qualifications and also from the positions I have held. I have worked in different professions ranging from adult education, lecturing and course leadership. I have worked for organisations such as Birmingham University, Warwick University, Harley Therapy, the Priory and the NHS. My roles in education included Senior Lecturer for Counselling, Course Director and Counselling Course Leader for a degree I co-wrote.
Practice description
As an experienced practitioner, helping people identify where they are at in life and how they want to move forward is my specialism. I have at my disposal many tools to do this, whether it is counselling, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), coaching, or hypnosis.
My qualifications include CBT, an MSc and diploma in Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring, Nutrition and Hypnotherapy.
I have experience of working and studying in other countries such Germany, America and Sweden. I have a good level of understanding of some of the challenges people face when living abroad. I currently divide my time between the UK and Spain.
My first session
We can initially communicate via text or email and arrange an initial free phone call where we can discuss suitability and availability. Making contact can feel like a big step for some but hopefully contact with me can help offer some reassurance.
We can discuss your preferred ways of working and what you hope to get from therapy. Once a first session is agreed, I will then send a client agreement/contract form for you to fill in.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been supervising counsellors for over 14 years now. I have also been working in the field of mental health for 20 years.

Practice description
As well as my counselling supervision certificate, my qualifications include diplomas in CBT and Person-centred therapy. My MSc in Counselling focused on integrative practice. I am also a qualified Hypnotherapist.
I have taught counselling supervision for a few years now and can supervise various models.
My first session
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet to work out whether there would be a good working alliance.
If I think that supervision with someone else would be better for you, I will make that known. If I think there is a good fit, I do encourage supervisees to take some time after the first session to work out whether they want to continue as there would be no obligation to proceed. It is important for both supervisor and supervisee to feel comfortable working together.
