About me and my therapy practice
"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I will meet you there." Rumi. This sums up my approach.
I鈥檓 Amanda, and I offer counselling and psychotherapy as a Senior Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, based in Brighton and online. I work with anxiety, stress, addiction, abuse, bereavement, grief, relationship difficulties, low self esteem , neurodiversity鈥檚 and dyslexia .My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative and trauma informed.
I bring over 20 years鈥 experience in mental health, beginning with training and supervised roles, many years in counselling, and now in psychotherapy practice.
I offer a warm, informal and confidential space with kind, honest curiosity so we can make sense of the knots and find the next steps. You do not need to know where to start. We can work that out together.
Practice description
My practice offers counselling and psychotherapy in Brighton & Hove and online supporting people at different stages of life. Some people come for short term therapy when focused support is needed for stress, anxiety, bereavement or life changes. Others choose longer term psychotherapy to explore deeper patterns, trauma, identity questions or relationship struggles. Sessions are usually weekly, lasting 50 minutes, and can take place face to face in my Brighton therapy room or online.
My approach is integrative, drawing on Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Person Centred traditions, enriched by Jungian ideas, art therapy, EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Depending on what feels right, we may talk reflectively, explore creatively, or use structured methods to find what helps.
鈥淕rowth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong鈥- N R Narayana Murthy
I have sat with many people as they faced the fear and difficulty of change, and worked alongside them to find a way through. My role is to stay with you in that process, supporting you to steady yourself, discover clarity, and take steps forward at your own pace.
I am a Senior Accredited member of 网爆门, with regular supervision and ongoing development ensuring safe and ethical practice.
