About me and my therapy practice
Are you going through a hard time involving change and/or loss? Challenges can happen in different ways, like job transitions, redundancy, relocations, the conclusion of relationships, medical diagnoses for yourself or loved ones, bereavement, and retirement. Each individual's experience with change and loss is different, and can be the cause of stress, grief and anxiety. Even if you have wanted change it can still be stressful. I will work closely with you to identify a path forward, whilst acknowledging your ability to make the best judgments.
My approach is primarily person-centred and helps you to identify the solutions which work best for your circumstances. I trust that, with professional, non-judgmental and empathic support, you will be able to navigate the challenges you are facing. My personal experiences with significant life change and loss, including child bereavement, help me to understand and empathise with you.
I can offer other supplementary techniques in our sessions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or mindfulness on an individual basis.
Practice description
I am a qualified therapist and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ), I have worked for many years in the mental health field as a practitioner, manager, and clinical supervisor. For nearly 12 years, I served as a senior manager for a national children's mental health charity and am now enjoying private practice.
I offer sessions in-person, in my private residential setting, or online via video. The choice of in-person or online will be dependent on what suits you and I am also flexible to a hybrid approach if that best supports our work.
You can find my counselling contract and privacy policy on my website: changeandlosscounselling.net
My first session
I offer a free 15-minute telephone introductory chat, to answer practical questions and to help you find out whether I might be the right person to support you.

My private practice and supervision days are primarily Tuesday and Wednesday.
About me and my therapy practice
My aim is to provide supervisees with a safe and supportive environment to explore challenges and be curious in their client work to provide the best safe, ethical and professional practice. There is also an important restorative element to supervision of sharing the impact of client practice on supervisees.
Whilst my core philosophy is person-centred, I have worked and supervised across different modalities and am comfortable exploring different theories in practice with supervisees.
I worked for many years with the children's mental health charity, Place2Be, as a school-based counsellor and supervisor/manager. I enjoy working creatively and would welcome supervisees to express their client experience and dilemmas through different media and metaphor.
Practice description
Supervision is a formal but collaborative process that involves regular ‘consultative support’. The Íø±¬ÃÅ requires all practitioners (trainee and qualified) to attend a minimum of 1.5 hours supervision per month.
I like to work in a ‘supervisory alliance’ with shared agreed objectives and a co-created supervision contract.
