About me and my therapy practice
Counselling can help you to understand yourself better and to find better ways of living and coping with problems.
During my 26 years as a counsellor I have worked with a broad range of issues mainly within local GP practices and Employee Assistance (EAP) programs.
I work with adults and young people aged 16 and over. We will work in the best way to suit you, whether its about personal, work or relationship issues. I offer online and telephone sessions. I can also offer home visits.
Practice description
I work mainly online and by telephone. I am able to offer home visits where required.
counselling sessions are usually one hour weekly but this is negotiable as it may not suit everyone.
We will explore what is important to you and what you want to achieve through counselling and together find ways to help you attain your goals.
My first session
Our first one hour session is a chance to get to know one another and I will complete a thorough assessment of your needs. If you feel comfortable talking to me, we will explore the best way to work together.I will ask you to complete a depression and anxiety questionnaire as this will help me to understand how you are affected by your issues and will help us to focus on what you want to get out of counselling. This is not essential though - if you prefer not to complete one, we will talk through your main issue/s and what you want to achieve.

About me and my therapy practice
I qualified as a counsellor in 1999. My initial training was largely psychodynamic but I have integrated TA and Gestalt into my working model although my focus is client-centred.
I am a qualified Counselling Supervisor (KRCS Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision, 2022) and I use a combination of Inskipp and Proctor’s functional model together with the seven-eyed (process) Model of supervision developed by Hawkins and Shohet to inform my supervision practice.
Practice description
I am a Íø±¬ÃÅ registered Counsellor and adhere to their code of ethics and standards of practice. I have been in practice for 26 years in a variety of settings including IAPT (now NHS Talking Therapies), CYP (Counselling Young People), and EAP (Employee Assistance Programmes,) using telephone, video-counselling and webchat as well as face to face sessions.
I see supervision as a meeting of peers (with additional responsibilities for the supervisor) with the aim to facilitate your practice by enabling reflection, development and professionalism while maintaining awareness of the importance of self-care. And I see the supervisory relationship as being based on mutual trust, supporting and encouraging supervisees to develop their skills/knowledge, maintain and gain a deeper understanding of professional standards/ ethics while offering constructive feedback and supporting your client work. My client work is integrative and founded loosely on Psychodynamic theory, incorporating Person Centred, TA and Gestalt. In supervision, I work with
