I am away second and third weeks of January.

About me and my therapy practice

I work with adults and young people dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, addiction, eating disorders, autism and ADHD, relationship and family problems, cultural trauma, sexuality, sexual trauma, domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse, fertility problems, pregnancy loss, divorce, disability, chronic pain, physical illness, bereavement and much more.

My approach is open and collaborative. Being an integrative therapist means I draw from a range of therapeutic techniques from humanistic, psychoanalytic, and existential traditions. I use system centred and attachment theories intertwined with the neuroscience of emotional regulation and trauma. Relational dimensions of my work with clients means there is a profound focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship of trust and understanding with a view to uncovering the interventions most helpful for you. From my background as a therapeutic yoga teacher, I integrate mindfulness, somatic or body-centred processing where appropriate.

I work mostly in the present moment, encouraging clients to attune to their feelings about themselves, relationships and life circumstances. This is facilitated by establishment of an honest therapeutic space. Thereby fostering the capacity to go deeper into client's experiences. This can not only help to process and repair painful, difficult realities but also help to uncover more fulfilling ways of living, alleviate aloneness in facing client's problems. In going deeper, I might explore dreams. This is one example of how I may work with the unconscious that seeks to address repressed aspects of your emotional and physical worlds, and how these interact. Exploring the relationship between client's struggles today and those in their past, can help clients develop awareness and insight, illuminating ways, with support, that clients can finally begin to overcome unhelpful patterns generated across their lifetime.

Practice description

If you choose to work with me, it is important to know that my goal would be to welcome all of you to the therapy. This means addressing parts that you may not feeling socially acceptable or that you may not have shared before. This is where the building of a safe space, through a trusting relationship dedicated to your wholeness comes into its own. Grounding my approach that works holistically and collaboratively to create your own bespoke therapy, that promotes your mental health and your growth.

I work primarily in-person, providing weekly psychotherapy in High Barnet, 169 High St, Barnet EN5 5TD. Located within easy reach of High Barnet Tube. Secure door buzzer with entry phone and a waiting room.

I also offer remote long-term work, weekly online therapy using Zoom or by telephone depending on your circumstances. There is also the option to work in a blended way. This involves a negotiated mix of in-person and online or telephone according to your specific needs, subject to my availability.

My first session

Taking the step into therapy is a significant decision. It is crucial that you find the right therapist. My aim is to make that initial first step as comfortable and supportive as possible, so that you feel safe and understood right from the start. Fostering a safe space, tuning into your specific needs is also crucial when it comes to creation of your bespoke therapy.

After a free 20 minute telephone consultation, when we can briefly discuss your needs and can ask any initial questions, you have the option to schedule an in-person, online or telephone session (weekly slot). Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £80 per session.

I also reserve a limited number of lower-cost sessions for those on lower incomes. If you think this might apply to you, please ask more about this during our initial contact. All rates are subject to annual review.

Your first session will involve an informal assessment, going into more detail about your experiences, as well as your goals. We will negotiate a process of therapy that's right for you.
