About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Chris, a qualified counsellor offering online therapy for men. I provide a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever鈥檚 going on 鈥 whether that鈥檚 stress, low mood, relationships, identity, or simply feeling stuck.
My approach is mainly person-centred, meaning I work at your pace and focus on what feels most important to you. I鈥檓 also trained in a pluralistic way of working, which allows me to draw on a range of approaches and tools to suit your individual needs.
Alongside my private practice, I have experience working with a men鈥檚 mental health charity, supporting clients with a wide range of challenges. I personally understand how difficult it can be for men to reach out, and I aim to offer a space that feels genuine, relaxed and respectful.
All sessions are held online, so you can access counselling from wherever feels most comfortable. I offer a free initial chat to help you get a sense of how we might work together. I hope you get in touch.
Practice description
My practice offers online counselling for men, providing a supportive and confidential space to talk openly about whatever鈥檚 going on in your life. I understand that many men find it hard to reach out or put their feelings into words 鈥 but I also know how powerful it can be to speak with another man who listens without judgement and genuinely understands what that takes.
I鈥檓 passionate about men鈥檚 mental health, especially at a time when so many men are struggling in silence. In a world that often tells men to 鈥渒eep it together,鈥 I believe it鈥檚 more important than ever to create spaces where men can talk honestly, explore emotions safely, and reconnect with themselves and others.
I often bring in elements of psychoeducation, helping clients understand how their minds and bodies respond to stress, relationships, and change 鈥 and how this awareness can lead to real growth and self-compassion.
I work mainly from a person-centred perspective, offering empathy, honesty and respect as we explore what鈥檚 happening for you. I also draw on a pluralistic approach, tailoring therapy to your individual needs 鈥 whether that means exploring emotions more deeply, developing coping strategies, or finding new perspectives on long-standing issues.
All sessions take place online, offering flexibility and comfort wherever you are. I offer a free initial chat so you can get a sense of whether my approach feels right for you.
My first session
If you get in touch, I'll arrange a call back over the phone or online to see if we can work together. This will be a brief 15 minute chat to find out what's happening and what you hope to gain from therapy. These call backs are free. Following this, we'll arrange our first session together.
Your first session is really a chance for us to get to know each other a bit and see how it feels to work together. There鈥檚 no pressure to dive straight into anything too heavy 鈥 we鈥檒l go at whatever pace feels right for you.
We鈥檒l spend some time talking about what鈥檚 brought you to counselling and what you鈥檇 like to get from it. I鈥檒l explain a little about how I work, answer any questions you have, and check that everything feels comfortable and clear.
It鈥檚 completely normal to feel nervous or unsure at first 鈥 most men do. My aim is simply to offer a safe, relaxed space where you can start to talk openly and begin to make sense of what鈥檚 been happening for you.
By the end of the session, you should have a sense of whether it feels like a good fit, and we can decide together about next steps.
