About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Bridget, and I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support takes courage — especially when life feels heavy or confusing.
Many of the people I work with feel lost, alone, or disconnected. They may be struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, or the pain of relationships and past experiences. Grief and loss can touch every part of life — whether it’s the end of a relationship, changes in health, financial worries, or other major transitions.
When stress builds up, it can be hard to know who we are beneath it all. You might feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted — weighed down by challenges, self-doubt, or have a constant inner voice telling you that you’re not enough.
If this sounds familiar, you don’t have to face it alone.
How We Can Work Together
In our sessions, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can:
• Gently explore your thoughts and feelings
• Challenge unhelpful beliefs and learn new coping strategies
• Build self-confidence and reconnect with your values
• Discover meaning and a sense of direction
• Practice acceptance and reframe negative patterns for greater peace of mind
This is your space — to be heard and understood at your own pace as you make sense of what’s happening and begin to move forward with greater clarity, self-understanding, and hope.
My Experience
I have worked with a diverse range of clients and have a particular interest in:
• Addiction
• Relationship, marital, and family issues
• Ex-military and blue-light service personnel
• Caring for children with complex health needs
Practice description
My approach is gentle yet grounded, with the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from person-centred and trauma-informed therapies, while blending elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis to help you understand yourself more deeply.
Together, we’ll explore what’s been holding you back, strengthen self-belief, and reconnect you to a sense of purpose and fulfilment. We’ll also create a personalised self-care plan that fits your life and circumstances — supporting you in moving toward the life you hope to build.
You can choose to work with me online, by telephone, or face to face in my peaceful rural counselling room — whichever feels most comfortable and convenient for you.
My first session
I offer a complimentary, no-obligation, 15-minute phone consultation — a chance to talk through what’s bringing you to therapy and see if we might work well together. If it feels right, we can arrange your first session from there. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on what you’d like from therapy and to ask any questions or share any concerns about the process.
