About me and my therapy practice
My experience is within both an NHS primary care therapeutic setting, and as part of charitable organisations.
My training is in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy where I have undertaken a Post Graduate Diploma at university. I have also obtained training in Compassion-Focussed Therapy for eating disorders. Additionally, I hold a degree in Sociology, and I find this compliments my skills because I hold in mind the effects of societal and social impacts on the individual.
I offer therapy both short and long term depending on your needs.
Practice description
Sometimes, the ways we’ve learned to cope stop working and that can be an anxiety-provoking place to find yourself. You might be here because something in your life no longer feels right, or because you’re simply curious to understand yourself more deeply. Whatever brings you to therapy, this can be the first step toward change.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth. My role is to offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you can explore what’s happening for you. I draw on both Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy to help us make sense of your experiences together.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. Through honest and authentic conversation, we can approach your thoughts, feelings, and patterns with curiosity, not criticism, to better understand how they developed and how they might shift. After all, it’s hard to know where to go next if you don’t know where you’re starting from.
The space I offer is one that encourages exploration and self-reflection. It’s a place where you can unpack your internal stories, both the supportive and the painful ones at your own pace. In getting to know yourself more fully, you create room for greater self-awareness, compassion, and the possibility of choosing a different path forward.
My first session
I offer an initial online ‘meeting’ that can last up to 30 minutes free of charge. This session acts as an informal assessment and for you to get a sense of me and how we may relate.
