About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a gentle, supportive space where you can explore your emotions and challenges at your own pace. Feeling safe, understood, and respected is at the heart of my approach, and I tailor each session to your individual needs.
I specialise in supporting people with stress and anxiety, but I also work with a wide range of concerns including loss, grief, anger, guilt, and life changes. In addition, I have experience offering counselling to individuals living with acquired brain injuries following strokes, accidents, or other causes.
My role is to provide a calm, non‑judgemental space where you can make sense of your struggles and discover new ways forward. I believe therapy is your journey, and I am here to walk alongside you, offering encouragement and practical support as you grow in confidence and resilience.
Alongside my private practice, I currently volunteer with the mental health charity Mind. I have also volunteered with Headway, supporting people living with brain injuries. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the many ways people adapt, recover, and find strength in the face of challenges.
Practice description
I believe therapy should be shaped around your needs, so I use a flexible, integrative style. My practice is rooted in pluralistic counselling, which means I draw on different approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you.
From a humanistic perspective, you set the pace and focus of our sessions, exploring your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non‑judgemental space. At times, we may use a psychodynamic lens to understand how past experiences influence your present, or CBT techniques to work with unhelpful thoughts and behaviours in a practical way.
Alongside these core approaches and based on your specific needs and expectations, I may offer supportive tools such as mindfulness, breathing practices, hypnotherapy, EFT (tapping), IEMT, NLP, or coaching strategies. These can provide additional ways to manage stress, regulate emotions, and build resilience.
Whatever methods we use, my aim is always the same: to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
My first session
I offer a free 15‑minute exploratory call so you can decide if working together feels right for you. If you choose to continue, I’ll send a short consultation form and agreement. In our first session, we’ll review these together, talk about what has brought you to therapy, and agree on your goals and expectations. This is a gentle, collaborative process where you set the pace, and we establish a safe foundation for your therapy journey.
