About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I imagine you have been searching for some support and I know it can be an overwhelming experience. Here I will try to give you an idea of who I am and how I work.

I have experience working with adults, young people and children. For the past 4 years I have worked with children in a therapeutic setting. In this time, I have helped school avoiders return to school and helped to reduce stress and anxiety whilst building confidence, self worth and improving low mood.

I have supported children in care, neurodivergent children and families of professional sportspeople.

I have a special interest in PTSD and trauma and I am currently undergoing certification in Complex Trauma.

I was trained in person centred counselling however, I draw upon different theories, depending on what you are comfortable with and what works for you.

Practice description

When working in Taunton, I have access to a shepherd hut and private outdoor space. This is located in the beautiful countryside at the end of a no through road, surrounded by woodlands. From here, I can offer; counselling, animal assisted therapy and eco therapy. This means I can offer counselling in a way to suit you as an individual. If you want to be indoors, then we can stay in the shepherd hut. However, if you prefer to be outdoors or working alongside animals, we can integrate this into your sessions.

Animals can offer us a special window into ourselves. Horses, in particular, have an incredible ability to mirror our feelings and give insight into our emotions. I work with two therapy horses, each with their own unique personality. This means offering different experiences depending on your needs.

I also work with a wonderful group of therapy dogs who can be part of the process. Stroking a dog not only feels comforting but also releases oxytocin 鈥 the 鈥渉appy hormone鈥 鈥 in both you and the dog. Simply spending time with animals can help calm the nervous system, ease stress, and reduce anxiety.

With Eco Therapy, being in nature itself becomes part of the healing. For many people, being outside feels more natural and comfortable than sitting indoors. Walk-and-talk sessions can be a gentle way to explore your feelings while enjoying the calming benefits of the outdoors.

There is on site parking and access to a private toilet.
