About me and my therapy practice

My primary approach is psychodynamic, which focuses on exploring how early life experiences, unconscious processes, and past relationships influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. The aim is to bring these underlying patterns into awareness so that individuals can understand themselves more deeply and make lasting changes.

The psychodynamic approach help clients explore unresolved conflicts, defence mechanisms, and recurring relationship patterns, often by examining the client-therapist relationship itself (known as transference).

Practice description

At Evergreen, I am committed to improving mental health and emotional wellbeing for individuals and communities. Our practice offers 50-minute counselling sessions for anyone aged 11 upwards, and support sessions for parents and carers. Our inclusive and high-quality mental health services are suited to a wide range of mental health conditions. We offer long- and short-term counselling sessions both in-person and via video call from our centre at 88 High Street, Earls Colne, CO6 2QX.

Once you reach out to me you'll be offered a phone call to help me understand your current needs, and then you'll be invited to a free assessment at the centre so we can meet and discuss working together. This is a great chance for you to see if our service feels like the right fit for you and to ask any questions you may have. We would then meet weekly for 50-minute sessions until the work comes to an end.

My first session

The first time we meet will be a free-of-charge assessment which can last up to 50 minutes. We can use this time to consider what brings you to therapy, why now, and what your hopes are for the process. If you're happy go ahead we'll find an ongoing appointment time which is suitable for you, and at your first session there'll be a more in-depth chat about family history and your current circumstances.
