About me and my therapy practice

I offer open ended individual counselling sessions, either face to face from my calm and welcoming space in Portlethen, or online to clients throughout the UK. Most clients find they benefit from weekly sessions, although this can be flexible according to your needs.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, and endeavour to meet clients with warmth, empathy and kindness. My practice is inclusive and accessible, I am experienced working with clients who identify as LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse.

As a parent-carer myself, my passion is providing a supportive counselling environment for clients who care for loved ones living with illness and disability. I understand first hand the challenges and joys that this role can bring, and the difference it can make to have a place to process and reflect.

As your counsellor, I strive to build trust and safety in our relationship, so that you feel comfortable to bring whatever you need to our sessions. Whether you are struggling to navigate a difficult chapter in your life, or feeling overwhelmed, coping with loss, anxiety or depression, or perhaps just feeling a bit lost yourself, I will sit with you in the moment and support you.

Practice description

Our sessions are about you, and what you feel you would like to bring in order to benefit from them. We can talk about what’s coming up for you currently, or experiences from your past, there are no limitations on what you can discuss in a session.

On my part, you can expect open and honest conversation. As your counsellor, it is not my role to tell you what to do or place judgement on our conversations, you are the expert on your own life and have the power and insight to make your own choices. However I will at times reflect back to you what I’m hearing, and encourage you to explore further your own emotions and experiences if you feel it’s beneficial.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation, which is a chance to briefly discuss how I work, your needs and see if we feel we would work well together. There’s no obligation to book a session after this, only you know if it’s right for you.
