About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative Psychotherapist offering counselling and psychoeducation for children, young people, and adults, including those who are neurodivergent or have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). My practice is rooted in warmth, trust, and trauma-informed care. From the very first session, I aim to create a safe, confidential space where clients feel secure enough to bring whatever they need, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, hearing voices, or navigating complex diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Paranoia, or Schizophrenia.
I work relationally and adapt my approach to each individual, drawing on evidence-based models and creative tools to support emotional expression, self-understanding, and resilience. My practice is informed by Jungian and Adlerian principles, exploring symbolic meaning, early relational patterns, and the client’s unique striving for belonging and significance. Along with the use of CBT These frameworks help clients make sense of their internal world, especially when experiences feel fragmented or overwhelming.
For clients who hear voices or experience paranoia, I incorporate the Maastricht Interview approach—a collaborative, non-pathologising method that seeks to understand the personal meaning behind voice-hearing experiences. This technique allows clients to explore their voices with curiosity and agency, often revealing links to trauma, unmet needs, or relational ruptures.
Sessions may include visual metaphors, reflective prompts, and structured psychoeducation, tailored to the client’s age, neurodevelopmental profile, and therapeutic goals. I also offer guidance to parents and carers, helping them better understand and respond to the emotional and behavioural needs of neurodivergent children and young people.
My practice is a space where clients can bring their full selves without judgement and begin to make sense of their experiences with support, clarity, and care.
Practice description
In our sessions, you can expect a warm, respectful, and non-judgemental approach. I work within the Íø±¬ÃÅ Ethical Framework and uphold the core conditions of counselling: empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. These guide how I listen, respond, and support you throughout our work together.
Depending on your needs, I may draw on:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for practical strategies and emotional regulation.
• Person-Centred Therapy to support self-trust and emotional expression.
• Jungian and Adlerian principles to explore deeper patterns and symbolic meaning.
• Maastricht Interview techniques for clients who hear voices or experience paranoia.
Sessions are collaborative and paced to suit you. Some clients prefer a structured approach with goals and worksheets; others need space to talk freely and reflect. I adapt accordingly, and we will regularly review how things are going to ensure the work remains helpful and aligned with your needs.
I also offer psychoeducational support to parents and carers, helping them better understand and respond to the emotional world of neurodivergent children and young people.
My first session
Before our first session, I invite clients to complete a referral form and two brief psychological measures the PHQ-9 and GAD-7. These help me understand your current emotional wellbeing and tailor support from the moment you arrive.
In our first meeting, we begin by establishing a therapeutic contract. This includes discussing confidentiality, safeguarding, session structure, boundaries, and what you’d like to gain from therapy. We’ll also talk about how I work and what you can expect from me as your counsellor.
Only once this foundation is in place do we begin gently exploring your referral information and assessment responses. This ensures you feel safe, informed, and in control of the process. Together, we’ll identify key themes and begin setting goals for your therapy, whether that’s managing anxiety, processing low mood, navigating neurodivergence, or making sense of more complex experiences such as voice-hearing, paranoia, or emotional overwhelm.
My aim is to create a calm, respectful space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to begin your therapeutic journey.
