About me and my therapy practice

I'm a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist working with couples and individuals who are navigating relationship difficulties, emotional challenges, and recurring patterns that feel difficult to shift.

I trained at the internationally renowned Tavistock Relationships, earning a Íø±¬ÃÅ-accredited clinical qualification in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a member of Íø±¬ÃÅ and the Tavistock Relationships Association for Psychotherapists and Counsellors (TRAPC), and I adhere to their professional codes and ethical guidelines.

My approach integrates contemporary psychodynamic theory with emotionally focused and attachment-based practices. I work with the understanding that our relationships—with partners, with ourselves, and with our past—are shaped by deeper emotional patterns and stories that often operate outside our conscious awareness. By bringing these hidden patterns into the light, they can begin to shift, often bringing significant relief and new possibilities.

I specialise in relationship difficulties including affairs and trust issues, communication breakdowns, jealousy, intimacy challenges, parenting conflicts, and unresolved patterns that keep couples stuck. For individuals, I work with anxiety, low mood, relationship struggles, self-esteem difficulties, bereavement, trauma, and feelings of being overwhelmed or unfulfilled.

I welcome clients of all ethnicities, cultures, religions, social backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities.

My work is collaborative and rooted in the belief that past experiences—particularly from our earliest relationships—continue to shape how we think, feel, and relate in the present. Through deepening emotional insight, improving communication, and fostering empathy and understanding, meaningful change becomes possible.

I offer a confidential, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported as we explore what's troubling you and find your way forward together.

Practice description

I provide online psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling for couples and individuals via Zoom. My practice is rooted in the belief that understanding the unconscious dynamics and emotional patterns that shape our relationships and inner lives is key to meaningful change.

Working with Couples: In couples therapy, we explore the unconscious dynamics and emotional narratives each partner brings into the relationship. Often, the conflicts that feel most intractable are rooted in unmet attachment needs, old wounds, or patterns learned long before you met. Together, we work to increase emotional insight, improve communication and repair, foster mutual empathy, and create deeper connection. My goal is to help you understand not just what happens between you, but why—so you can relate with greater compassion and choice.

Working with Individuals: Whether you're facing a specific difficulty or struggling with feelings you can't quite name, therapy provides a safe space to make sense of your experience. We'll explore the patterns, triggers, and unmet needs that shape how you relate to yourself and others. This can be a creative process as we follow your associations to deepen understanding.

Issues I Work With: Relationship conflict and breakdown, affairs and trust, intimacy and sexual difficulties, jealousy, communication problems, parenting challenges, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, trauma, life transitions, family dynamics, and persistent feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed.

Approach: My work integrates psychodynamic theory with emotionally focused and attachment-based practices. I'm interested in how the past impacts the present, often in ways we don't recognise, and how bringing unconscious patterns into awareness allows them to transform.

Practical Information: Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly, conducted online via Zoom. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation followed by a 75-minute consultation.

My first session

Before We Meet: When you first contact me, I offer a free 15-minute phone conversation. This isn't a therapy session but a chance for us to discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you have, and explore whether we might work well together. There's no pressure—it's simply an opportunity to see if it feels like a good fit.

The Initial Consultation: If we both feel it's appropriate to proceed, we'll schedule an initial consultation of 75 minutes. This longer first session gives us time to explore your concerns in greater depth without feeling rushed.

For Individuals: I'll want to understand what brings you to therapy at this time—what you're struggling with, what patterns you've noticed, and what you're hoping to gain from our work together. We'll also discuss your history, relationships, and any significant life experiences that feel relevant. You're encouraged to share whatever feels important, and there's no right or wrong way to do this.

For Couples: I'll aim to understand how each partner experiences the relationship and what you're both hoping to achieve. We'll explore what brings you to therapy now, the patterns you've noticed between you, and your relationship history. Both partners will have space to share their perspective, and I'll work to create an environment where you both feel heard and understood.

What to Expect: The consultation is about getting to know each other and beginning to understand your situation. I'll ask questions, but you'll also have space to share what matters most to you. It's completely normal to feel nervous—most people do. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can speak openly.

Next Steps: If we decide to continue, we'll arrange regular weekly sessions of 50 minutes via Zoom.
