About me and my therapy practice

Is life feeling challenging right now, maybe it's an uphill battle that seems endless and you're not sure who you can turn to when it becomes overwhelming?   If you want someone to truly listen to you, to how you're feeling and what you're experiencing without being judged, I can help.  

Making the decision to come to counselling can be daunting and it can feel uncomfortable at first talking to someone about your feelings.  That's why it's really important you find someone who's the right fit for you so you feel comfortable to talk about whatever you need to.  

I offer a welcoming space where first and foremost I aim to build a warm, respectful and trusting relationship, where you're free to talk openly about whatever is troubling you.  Together we can explore, at your pace, how to move forward towards feeling more at ease within yourself and your life.    

Practice description

My practice is integrative, drawing predominantly on person centred and relational approaches, although each client is unique so I will draw on other approaches as and when needed. 

I have the firm belief that you are the expert on yourself and I'm here to support you to better understand yourself, your feelings and experiences.    Counselling allows you to explore and understand yourself better, gain clarity and make sense of your experiences and feelings, gain confidence and build resilience.   

How we experience others and behave in all kinds of relationships affects our view of ourselves, others and the world around us and we can sometimes lose sight of our own values and who we really are.  By cultivating a healthy, respectful relationship between us, I can explore your world with you and support you to grow and create change within yourself to help you move towards overcoming whatever is troubling you.  

I offer 50 minute weekly sessions.   Most clients find weekly sessions beneficial, especially during the early stages, however the frequency may differ depending on various circumstances.  

I provide support for a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, loss of any kind, significant life transitions, work related, relationships and the impacts of these issues on your everyday life.   As well as my private practice my experience includes working for charitable organisations.     

My first session

Our first session will provide an opportunity for you to share what it is that's brought you to counselling and what you need from our sessions.  Don't worry if you feel unsure about this, we can explore together what it is you might need and talk more about how we can work on this together.  

There's no pressure to return or agree to a certain number of sessions.  If we decide to work together we can agree on how many sessions seems appropriate for you, and review this as time goes on.
