Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer counselling face-to-face, online, or by telephone. Clients are welcome to choose the format that feels most comfortable and convenient for them.
Face-to-face sessions take place in my private therapy room in Bolton on Mondays and Tuesdays (daytime or evening) and on Saturday mornings. The space provides a calm and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.
Online and telephone sessions are available on Monday to Thursday, including evenings, offering flexibility for those who prefer to connect from home or another private space.
I aim to reply to all enquiries within 24 hours during working hours. If you contact me outside these times, I will respond as soon as I am next available.
If you are considering counselling and would like to find out more, I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation to help you decide whether working together feels right for you.
About me and my therapy practice
You may appear to have everything together, yet inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of yourself. Perhaps you are constantly caring for others, but rarely give yourself the same kindness. Life may feel too busy, too heavy, or as though you have lost touch with who you really are.
Counselling offers a space to pause and breathe. A space where you can speak freely, without fear of judgement, and begin to make sense of what feels confusing or painful.
I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, authenticity, and respect as we explore what is happening for you. Together, we can gently uncover patterns, beliefs, and emotions that may be holding you back and begin to create new understanding and self-acceptance.
Sessions with me are calm, collaborative, and led by what you need each week. Some people come to explore a specific issue, such as anxiety, loss, low mood, or relationship difficulties. Others come simply because life feels overwhelming and they want to understand themselves better.
In our work, I may also draw on elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help you recognise unhelpful thought patterns and develop practical ways to manage them.
Over time, many clients describe feeling more grounded, more able to respond rather than react, and more at ease within themselves. Change does not happen overnight, but with warmth, safety, and consistency, it becomes possible to move towards a life that feels lighter and more balanced.
Practice description
Walking through the door to counselling can take courage. My intention is to create a space where you can simply be, no masks, no expectations, just time that is yours. Together we can begin to make sense of what feels heavy or confusing, and move towards a calmer, clearer way of being.
Our sessions are guided by what feels most important to you each week, allowing the pace and focus to develop naturally. It is not about being told what to do or meeting expectations. Instead, it is about being truly listened to, understood, and supported as you find your own way forward. I offer gentle reflection, empathy, and curiosity to help you explore the patterns and emotions shaping your experience.
Some sessions may feel lighter and focused on gaining clarity; others may touch on deeper or more painful areas. However you arrive, I will meet you there with warmth and respect.
I have a particular interest in supporting women through life’s transitions and health-related changes, including perinatal experiences, pregnancy loss, and menopause. I also work with those navigating grief, burnout, or emotional overwhelm, offering a space to process loss, change, and the challenges of caring for others while trying to maintain balance and self-care.
Face-to-face sessions take place in a peaceful therapy room in Bolton, with online and telephone sessions also available for those who prefer to connect from home.
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is usually held weekly, although this can be adjusted to suit your needs and circumstances. I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering both short-term and open-ended therapy.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you are welcome here, just as you are.
