Availability
Mondays I have availability for eco-therapy clients at Abney Hall in Cheadle.
Tuesdays I have availability for online clients.
From December I will be offering face to face indoor therapy in Stockport.
About me and my therapy practice
I offer Eco-therapy in a nature setting, virtual therapy sessions via Zoom and face to face indoor sessions.
I can offer some flexibility for a mix of the above options. My aim is to ensure that all my sessions are wheelchair accessible, please ask for more information.
I am experienced in working with people who are struggling with anxiety and have years of experience working with people who identify as neurodivergent and have communication and/or sensory challenges.
I am also experienced working with the challenges of chronic illness, identity and self-esteem.
I have lived experience as a neurodivergent person, late diagnosis and mother of neurodivergent children, and often work with neurodivergent people and their family members or partners.
My modality of working is integrative including Transactional Analysis, and I am also a qualified trauma therapist, mindfulness teacher and yoga therapist for mental health and can enrich our work together as needed.
My approach is usually recognised as calming, and I often bring somatic and nervous system awareness into therapy.
My aim is to allow each client the space and time to recognise and work with the issues they bring to therapy.
Practice description
I offer a free fifteen minute session via Zoom or telephone to establish if we want to work together.
During the fifteen minutes we will establish if you want to work online, face to face in nature with Eco-therapy or face to face indoors.
My aim is to reduce barriers to accessing therapy. Each client is different depending on their physical health and neurological characteristics therefore the list below is an example of some of the adjustment I make with clients.
1. Photos of the venue including the entrance and facilities emailed to you in advance of the first meeting.
2. Due to chronic fatigue or other executive functioning issues a short, emailed summary of our session emailed to the client after the appointment.
3. Support and encouragement to use fidget toys or other resources during our session.
4. Movement and mindfulness can be included in the sessions to support regulation of the nervous system and feeling safe during session.
5. At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel/postpone a session otherwise the full fee will be payable.
Before our first meeting I will require the completion of contact and contract forms. These can be emailed to you or completed in our first session.
Appointments last 60 minutes.
At the beginning of working together we may establish a contract to describe what you want to achieve in coming to therapy.
If you find it challenging to talk about emotions, we can choose to use drawing and other visual or auditory resources to help explore thoughts, feelings and sensations.
Most of my clients work with me for at least 12 weeks. Some weekly and others fortnightly.
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute online or telephone session.
If after the free session we decide to work together I will forward a contract and contact form including questions about previous experiences of therapy and mental and physical health needs.
I may send other short questionnaires as required after our initial chat.
Unfortunately, I am currently unable to offer a concessionary rate.
