About me and my therapy practice
My name is Marc, I'm a 网爆门-registered relational integrative counsellor. I have a BA (Hons) Counselling from The University of Suffolk.
I鈥檝e worked with people from all walks of life 鈥 from students navigating identity, stress, anxiety, and perfectionism, to adults managing trauma, depression, emotional dysregulation, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
My approach blends insight and emotion. I鈥檓 trained in several models, but mainly draw from psychodynamic, transactional analysis, and humanistic therapy. That might sound a bit technical 鈥 but in real terms, it means I鈥檓 curious about the deeper emotional patterns you carry from past relationships, the roles you鈥檝e learned to play, and how we can gently shift those together in the present.
A big part of my work is holding space for people to make sense of things 鈥 even stuff that feels 鈥渢oo much鈥 or messy. I think therapy isn鈥檛 about fixing someone, but about noticing, staying with, and slowly loosening the hold that certain beliefs, habits, or defences might have. Therapy can offer a space to rewrite those stories at your own pace.
Alongside private work, I also provide telephone and video-based counselling in my role as a Graduate EAP Counsellor, supporting clients in brief, structured settings. So if you're looking for short-term therapy (6-12 sessions), we can also work in a more focused, goal-oriented way.
Underneath it all, I believe therapy is a space to be real. You don鈥檛 need to know what to say or have it all figured out. If you're willing to be curious, honest, and open to small shifts, I鈥檇 be honoured to walk alongside you.
Practice description
I work with adults (18+) currently offering online therapy. I鈥檓 based in Norwich, with some flexibility around afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Sessions last 50 minutes and we usually meet weekly 鈥 though we can adjust based on what you need.
In my practice, I aim to create a space that feels safe, collaborative and grounded. You don鈥檛 need to come with a perfect explanation or a fixed 鈥済oal鈥 鈥 just a willingness to explore what鈥檚 been going on for you, and a curiosity about how things might shift. Whether you鈥檙e feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or just not sure who you are anymore, I鈥檒l meet you where you are.
My style is relational and integrative, which means I work with both the emotional and cognitive sides of things. I might help you explore past experiences or unconscious patterns, but I鈥檒l also tune into the present 鈥 how you're feeling in your body, what鈥檚 going on between us in the room, and how you relate to yourself day-to-day. Clients often tell me this mix of reflective space and gentle challenge helps them feel seen, but also empowered to grow.
In addition to private practice, I鈥檓 currently working as a Graduate EAP Counsellor, supporting clients in short-term, solution-focused therapy. That means I鈥檓 also used to working in practical, time-limited ways 鈥 helping clients identify immediate concerns, build tools and make meaningful changes within a focused number of sessions (usually 6-12 sessions).
I鈥檓 mindful that everyone鈥檚 story is shaped by different experiences, so I work in a trauma-aware, inclusive, and non-judgemental way. I welcome people from all backgrounds and life experiences. Whether we鈥檙e working with perfectionism, burnout, shame, anxiety, or identity 鈥 I鈥檒l walk alongside you as we make sense of your story.
Feel free to get in touch to ask any questions or arrange a first session.
My first session
The first session is really about getting a feel for whether we鈥檙e the right fit. There鈥檚 no pressure to commit to ongoing work 鈥 think of it as a gentle space to explore what鈥檚 bringing you here, and whether therapy (and working with me specifically) feels like the right next step.
I鈥檒l begin by sharing a bit about how I work and checking in around things like confidentiality, boundaries, and practical stuff (fees, cancellations, etc). I might ask you about what鈥檚 been going on for you lately, how things have been feeling emotionally or physically, and if you鈥檝e had therapy before. But this isn鈥檛 a test 鈥 you鈥檙e free to share as much or as little as you like.
Sometimes clients come in with something specific they want to work on. Other times, it鈥檚 more of a vague sense that something鈥檚 off 鈥 maybe you鈥檙e stuck in repetitive patterns, burnt out, or struggling with confidence or relationships. All of that is valid. We鈥檒l start by getting a clearer picture of what you鈥檙e hoping for, and whether we both feel like the I'm right person to support you.
I don鈥檛 usually offer a formal assessment or diagnostic tool unless we agree it would be helpful, but I do take a collaborative, curious approach to understanding what鈥檚 going on.
The first session is 拢40鈥 same as regular sessions 鈥 and if cost is a barrier, I do have limited concession slots. You鈥檙e welcome to email or call me first if you'd like to discuss anything before booking in. I offer a free 15 minute phone call to help get an idea of what you're looking for.
My hope is that from the first meeting, you feel respected, supported, and free to be yourself.
