About me and my therapy practice

I support people living with anxiety, OCD or neurodiversity and I understand how it can be exhausting, overwhelming and you can often feel misunderstood and overlooked. I know this can feel isolating and like no one truly understands, but you don鈥檛 have to face this on your own. I offer a warm, welcoming and down-to-earth space where you can explore your unique personal experiences with an empathetic, trustworthy and patient therapist. I see you as a whole, unique human being and consider you in mind, body, and spirit. I work from the heart, offering an open and understanding space where you can connect with yourself at a deeper level. You won鈥檛 be judged, interrupted, or feel like you need to mask who you are, you will be met with genuine warmth and safety as we explore what you need. Together, we鈥檒l get curious about thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that are making you feel stuck, connect with and process difficult emotions, and navigate a healthier relationship with yourself and the world around you.

As an Integrative counsellor I draw on different models of therapy - but always with a strong focus on our relationship. We'll work collaboratively and at your own pace, focusing on the issues that matter most to you. Every person is unique, so I adapt my way of working to suit your individual needs.

Practice description

I use a trauma-informed approach and I am trained in Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, and Transactional Analysis. My role is to really hear you, to understand what you are going through, and to help you make sense of things at your own pace. I walk along side you and together we find ways of moving forward that feels right for you. My approach is flexible and creative 鈥 I won鈥檛 fit you into a box or try to 鈥渇ix鈥 you. You experience your inner and outer worlds uniquely, so as a therapist I embrace that diversity within our work together. I aim to create an environment of unconditional acceptance where you feel safe, valued and empowered to trust yourself and your own inner wisdom. From this place you can begin to find new meaning and create lasting changes in your life.

I have a deep understanding of OCD and ADHD and support people who prefer to work with a therapist with lived experience. This personal insight nourishes my professional expertise helping me to deeply understand how stigma, shame, and self-criticism can impact seeking professional help. You don't have to worry about that here, I empathise deeply and I will support you without judgement. We will work together to understand and reframe unwanted intrusive thoughts, and address shame and guilt, emotions often overlooked in both OCD and ADHD.

While I have a particular focus on OCD, anxiety and neurodiversity, I welcome all mental health issues. I have experience working with a wide range of presentations with people from all walks of life. My practice is an affirming and inclusive space for clients of all backgrounds, communities, and identities. Whatever you bring and whoever you are, you will be met with the same energy, respect and validation. I aim to create a space where everyone feels seen, heard and supported.

My first session

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, and I want to honour your bravery and the commitment you鈥檙e making to yourself. I鈥檒l ensure our first session feels welcoming and friendly, and I鈥檒l meet you with a genuine, open heart.

Before we meet, I鈥檒l send you all the information you need to prepare 鈥 including my address, what to do when you arrive, and parking details 鈥 so everything feels clear and straightforward.

You鈥檒l also receive our working agreement and an initial consultation form, which need to be completed before our first session. During our meeting, we鈥檒l go through some important areas together, such as confidentiality boundaries and any safety concerns, to help you feel informed and comfortable.

If you鈥檙e unsure about anything, you鈥檙e welcome to contact me at any time by phone, text, or email, and I鈥檒l get back to you as soon as I can.

From there, we鈥檒l begin to build a trusting relationship. My aim is to help you feel safe, heard, and supported as we explore what you鈥檇 like to achieve from therapy 鈥 always keeping you at the centre of every decision.
