About me and my therapy practice
Is life an uphill battle, but not sure why? Are you anxious, depressed and worried about the future? I understand how tough it is to take that step and ask for help. I can help you identify and understand what’s going on for you. The anxiety eases, the brain fog lifts, you feel calmer and know yourself better.
I work with children, young people and adults with a wide range of concerns including:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Low self-esteem/self-confidence
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
• Trauma/past painful experiences
• Relationship issues
• Sleep problems
• Grief and Loss
Counselling is not only for times of crisis. I can help you learn more about yourself, improve relationships and build a happier future. After 25 years working in education, my wealth of experience ensures I am well-placed to help struggling Teachers, teens and young people. I hold an advanced DBS.
My approach is empathetic, client-centred, and tailored to meet the individual needs of each person. Whether you're seeking help for a specific challenge or general emotional support, I am here to guide and support your emotional well-being.
Are you ready to take that next step with me? E-mail, call or text today and let's book you in. My unique blend of calm, non-judgmental, empathic listening, coupled with psychoeducation, creates a safe space that facilitates change for my clients.
Practice description
I'm Kate from Blue Waves Counselling, a qualified and insured integrative therapist (Íø±¬ÃÅ) offering online and in-person sessions at the relaxing rooms in Sowton (a 3-minute drive from J29 of the M5, and a 2-minute walk from the park and ride).
Working from an integrative framework means I can draw from a range of modalities to uniquely tailor therapy to suit you and what you bring. In addition, I have completed an MSc in Psychology, a CBT diploma, and, alongside my own experiences, I offer a unique perspective to sessions. I help you find a deeper understanding of yourself and heal from your loss or past. We will work together to identify your emotions and how it is affecting you and find your new path.
My clients state that they feel lighter, sleep better, understand themselves better and can start to see their future more clearly. If you feel ready to go on this journey with me, please reach out for a free, no-obligation 15-minute phone call to see if I am the person for you.
Accepting new clients now.
Please reach out for availability and concessional rates for those with chronic health issues that impair your ability to earn.

When working online, I use Zoom.

Your first session may induce some nerves, but the warm welcome I can provide will quickly put you at ease.
