About me and my therapy practice

My approach to therapy is pluralistic. This means I work collaboratively with clients, drawing on a wide range of tools and perspectives to tailor therapy to your individual needs. Together, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, and through the use of your feedback and regular check-ins, find an approach that feels right to you. Your voice matters, and I will adapt as your needs or goals evolve.

In my practice, I have helped my clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress and suicidal thoughts, as well as those grappling with deeper existential questions around identity, relationships, and direction in life. While pluralism offers flexibility, my strengths lie in humanistic and relational approaches such as person centred and existential therapy. These approaches aim to help you feel grounded, understood, and supported as you make sense of yourself, others, and the world around you.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a climbing instructor and coach - a role that taught me patience, encouragement and respect for each person’s unique experience of challenge. My own experience of therapy, alongside those years of supporting others in challenging situations, inspired me to train as a therapist.

I hold an MSc in Pluralistic Counselling from Abertay University, and my ongoing learning focuses on existential psychotherapy. I recognise that as a straight, white able-bodied man in my 30’s, I hold certain privileges that not everyone shares. However, I am committed to listening, learning, and creating a space where all clients feel valued, heard, and respected, whatever their background or identity. My goal is to be an ally and contribute to a more equitable world - beginning with the therapeutic space we create together.

Practice description

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or searching for meaning, I offer a collaborative and compassionate space to help you reconnect with yourself and what matters most to you.

My first session

Our first session, either in person or via Google meet, is a gentle starting point where we can talk about what you'd like to explore in therapy, consider how long you might want to work together, and see if it feels like a good fit for us both.
