About me and my therapy practice
How counselling can help:
We can all have times when life is difficult, confusing, painful. We can feel stuck, or rushed, or lost, perhaps - overwhelmed by current challenges or past struggles. Counselling can provide a point of pause - an opportunity to reflect, to make better sense of deeply-felt personal experiencing, and to connect with what it means to be you.
Working together:
As a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor, I feel strongly that everyone has worth - valuing you as an individual, and your lived experiences as unique. I offer a collaborative approach to therapy - two human beings working together - and practise relationally, creatively, and holistically to support the meaningful change you seek.
Coming from a background in accessible education, advocacy, and communications, I draw on my breadth and depth of professional and personal experience within diverse communities - and feel passionately that the therapeutic space allows for all voices, all stories to be heard. I see it as my position not to advise or to find ‘quick fixes’; rather, I aim to encourage an affirming, inclusive, non-judgemental space, and warmly invite you to bring whatever thoughts, feelings, and emotions might arise in the moment - hopeful that every part of you can feel welcome and accepted. Building on a shared sense of trust and safety, we can work together, and at your pace, to carefully explore the ways you relate to yourself, to others and to the wider world - as you consider what is still useful, and what no longer serves you.
A positive way forward:
Whilst there are aspects of our lives that we cannot change, I believe that with fresh insight and greater self-awareness there is the possibility of moving forwards with a renewed sense of agency, freedom and fulfilment.
Throughout this process, my intention is to be alongside you with kindness, curiosity, and heartfelt compassion.
