About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Susannah, an Integrative Counsellor, welcome to my profile. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to talk to, I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings and have the time to go at your own pace. As a therapist my approach is personable, collaborative, professional and supportive. Clients have said that I am warm, respectful and understanding and that they feel able to talk to me as I have a calming presence.

Where I work

I offer in person and on-line counselling sessions in Abergavenny where I have a safe and confidential room which I use for my client work. I have a passion for nature and enjoy providing walk and talk therapy in my local area within the Brecon Beacons National Park. My walking in nature sessions combine professional counselling with the benefits of movement and the calming effect of being outside in the natural environment.

Practice description

Style of working/aims

My approach is integrative, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic styles including person centred and CBT to suit your unique needs. I work with adults facing challenges such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss, trauma, relationship issues, bullying and burn out. Through working in mental health settings in the NHS, as a social worker in a community mental health team and the UK’s Eating Disorders Charity, Beat, I have valuable experience of working and building professional relationships with clients which I use during my therapeutic work. I am able to witness clients gain increased self-awareness during our work together enabling them to overcome challenges and gain personal growth.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ), I am committed to working in accordance to the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions (2018). I comply with the Íø±¬ÃÅ’s principles and good practice ensuring I have regular supervision and training to maintain my professional practice.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation providing the opportunity for us to talk and for further information on my therapy practice.
