About me and my therapy practice
I am a trauma informed therapist, offering a calm and grounded space where you can feel seen, heard and supported. I work with people navigating experiences such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm and stress. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent clients, always valuing individuality and personal experience.
I began my career in the NHS in 2006, working there for 17 years before starting my degree in 2023. During this time I supported mothers experiencing perinatal mental health difficulties, worked with people in crisis within the prison service, and walked alongside individuals and families in palliative care. These experiences deepened my understanding of presence, compassion and human connection.
My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), gestalt, attachment theory, existential perspectives, phenomenology and person centred therapy. I tailor therapy to your needs, creating a space that reflects your pace, priorities and experiences.
I also pay close attention to the body and nervous system. Using polyvagal theory, we can explore how stress and trauma affect physical responses and learn ways to feel more regulated and grounded. This foundation supports deeper emotional healing and self understanding. Creative approaches such as art, sand trays or metaphor can also help with expression and reflection.
At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship: a steady, accepting space where emotions can settle and new insights emerge.
Therapy with me is collaborative and guided by you. Whether you are exploring past experiences, making sense of emotions or seeking ways to live more authentically, I offer a supportive space to reflect, heal and grow at your own pace.
Practice description
My approach is relational, down to earth and flexible. I work in an integrative way, drawing from different therapeutic models depending on what feels most helpful for you. These may include elements of psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural techniques (CBT), attachment theory, existential and phenomenological perspectives, and trauma informed ways of working. At the heart of it all is a strong, trusting relationship where you feel safe, heard and supported.
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is a powerful part of healing. Feeling truly seen and accepted can rebuild trust not only in others but also in yourself. Therapy is collaborative, and I will walk alongside you. It is not always a straight line: sometimes reflective or emotional, sometimes grounding, and at other times full of subtle change.
Together, we may explore how your past has shaped your present, how you relate to others, or what it means to live a meaningful life. I also pay attention to the nervous system and how stress or emotional pain may show up physically. Supporting you to feel more settled and regulated can create space for deeper healing and self understanding.
Creativity may also play a role. Sand trays, clay, drawing or metaphor can offer new perspectives and help express feelings that are hard to put into words.
Client autonomy is central. Therapy is not about fixing you but creating space where you can come to know yourself more fully. You are the expert in your life, and I will support you in finding a path that feels rooted, authentic and meaningful.

My first session
I offer a free 20 minute informal chat so we can get to know each other and see if we are a good fit. This is a relaxed opportunity to ask questions and discuss what you might want from therapy before booking a full session.
Your first full session with me is an opportunity to begin exploring what brings you to therapy. It is a calm, welcoming space where you can feel seen, heard and supported. We will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, any current difficulties, and what you hope to achieve. You are invited to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with and there is no pressure or expectation.
I will explain how I work, including my integrative approach, and what therapy might involve. We can also cover practicalities, confidentiality and any questions you have. The first session is an opportunity to start exploring your thoughts, emotions and experiences.
By the end of the session, we will have a shared sense of your needs, priorities and goals. The session is not about solving problems immediately; it is about creating a foundation of trust, understanding and curiosity. Together, we will shape therapy in a way that feels right for you, at your own pace, with care and compassion.
