About me and my therapy practice
Hello and a very warm welcome to my practice. I’m Charlotte and I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of the exact problems you may be struggling with.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, trauma or the challenges of different life stages I can help. Your feelings however are unique to you and you do not have to be able to put a name to them. An awareness that your mental health is under pressure is the first step to recovery.
Life can be too much at times. If you are trying to make sense of painful emotions, difficult experiences or repeating patterns of behaviour then counselling provides an opportunity to reflect and develop new approaches. I can offer a place where my experience and passion meet your pain and we are able to explore new ways for you to cope.
I am warm and approachable and understand the importance of building a reliable, trusting and genuine relationship with you. If you are considering counselling I would be delighted to talk more to you about how I can help.
I currently have availability at Upper Therapy Room, 16 Old Town, London SW4 on Wednesday afternoons. From January 2026 I will have increased availability at The Awareness Centre, 41 Abbeville Road, London SW4 on Thursdays. At the moment this clinic is full. In addition I see clients face to face in Bembridge PO35 on the Isle of Wight on Mondays. Online sessions are available more flexibly throughout the week.
From January I will be opening up more slots to see couples both face to face and online.
Face-to-face sessions £70
Online/telephone sessions £60
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor offering a calm environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences safely with me by your side.
My approach is called integrative because I use a range of approaches and adapt them to meet your needs. My role is to provide a place where you feel heard, understood and supported. Your role is to set the pace and decide what to explore from your past and present and your hopes for the future. You only ever need share what feels safe for you and we work at your pace.
I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT or ‘tapping’) which is a gentle, body-based technique that combines talking therapy with tapping on specific points on the upper body (through clothing) to reduce distress and promote emotional balance. This can be incorporated into a counselling session or used in isolation.
These are some of the approaches we may use:
Psychodynamic therapy explores how early experiences and relationships may influence patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours
Person-centred therapy places your perspective at the centre of the work, encouraging self-reflection through empathy and acceptance
Solution-focused therapy helps identify goals and build on your existing strengths to create meaningful, achievable change
Mindfulness techniques support self-awareness, stress reduction and coping strategies
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps people identify, challenge and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour
I work with adults over the age of 18 from all backgrounds, cultures, races, beliefs and sexualities. If I feel like someone you could reach out to I'd love to hear from you.
My final thought... therapy is self-care, self-compassion, an investment in your future and not self-indulgence.
My first session
Before you commit to a session with me I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to hear a little more about what you are looking for and for you to see if I feel like a good fit for you.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, to discuss how counselling with me works and for you to share your story with me. We can go through any necessary paperwork in this session and make a plan for your counselling goals.
