About me and my therapy practice

I work in an integrative, trauma-informed, person-centred way. My counselling offers a compassionate and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help individuals rediscover confidence, resilience, and self-worth.

Alongside trauma recovery and emotional regulation, I also work existentially 鈥 supporting clients who feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are, helping them reconnect with meaning, identity, and a sense of purpose beyond survival.

I am experienced in supporting complex emotional needs, eating disorders and disordered eating, self-harm, suicidal ideation, neurodivergence, abuse and trauma recovery. I am committed to ensuring every person I work with feels heard, valued, and respected.

Professional Background

I run an established private practice in the South West, working with both adults and children.

Alongside this, I work with Bath Mind within the Royal United Hospital A&E Department, supporting individuals in mental-health crisis.

I am also a therapist with SWEDA (South West Eating Disorder Association), one of the South West鈥檚 largest eating-disorder support organisations.

In addition, I am a Lecturer for Year 1 Hypnotherapy and Counselling Students with Chrysalis, supporting the next generation of therapists in their training.

Outside of my private practice, I am actively involved in community wellbeing projects, collaborating with schools, GPs, and local organisations to promote mental-health awareness and compassionate, trauma-informed care.

Practice description

I help adults, children, and young people who may be struggling to cope, feeling disconnected from themselves, or finding life overwhelming or difficult to navigate.

I often work with people who seem 鈥渟trong鈥 or 鈥渇ine鈥 on the outside, but are holding a lot inside. Many of my clients have spent a long time coping alone, masking distress, or feeling they must manage everything themselves 鈥 often alongside a quiet belief that they are 鈥渘ot good enough鈥 or somehow failing.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you 鈥 it is about offering a compassionate, grounded, and collaborative space where you can explore your experiences safely, at your pace, without judgement or pressure.

My approach is relational and gentle, while also supporting you to build understanding, emotional safety, resilience, and trust in yourself. Alongside trauma and nervous-system work, I support those who feel lost, unsure of who they are, or disconnected from their sense of meaning or purpose. Together, we work to rediscover who you are beyond survival, expectations, shame, or fear.

Whether you are navigating eating difficulties,  ARFID, trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, self-criticism, or a sense of not knowing who you are anymore, you don鈥檛 have to carry it alone. This is a space where you can come as you are, feel seen and understood, and begin to move towards a life that feels more grounded, secure, and aligned with your true self.

My first session

Your first session is a gentle space to settle in and begin getting to know each other. There is no pressure to share everything at once 鈥 we move at your pace. It鈥檚 completely normal to feel nervous before starting therapy; my role is to help you feel safe, supported, and understood as we begin this journey together.

In our first session, we will explore what has brought you here, what you feel comfortable sharing, and what you would like from counselling. I will ask some initial questions to help understand your needs and background, but always with care and choice 鈥 you remain in control of what you share. We will also talk about how we work together, confidentiality, session frequency, and any goals if you have them. Some people arrive knowing what they want to work on; others simply know they don鈥檛 feel like themselves. Both are welcome.

The first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for me and the way I work. Therapy is a collaborative relationship, and it鈥檚 important that you feel comfortable and safe. If we both feel the fit is right, we鈥檒l agree a plan going forward.

You don鈥檛 need to have the words or everything figured out 鈥 you just need to arrive as you are, and we will take it one step at a time together.
