When we enter the world, we are unique souls who need to be loved, seen, and cared for unconditionally. Regardless of how good our upbringing is, many of us grow up feeling unseen and unheard and ultimately end up losing sight of who we really are.

By burying parts of being, we set ourselves up for unhappiness, because our soul longs to be expressed. We feel shame when our needs are rejected because we are taught that some of those needs are unacceptable. Rather than face the painful prospect of embracing those lost parts of ourselves, we try to numb our discomfort through harmful behaviour that stems from depression and anxiety.

We may try to soothe our pain with food, drugs, sex, and other distractions, but these are only temporary solutions—the pain will return until we face it head-on and allow it to move through us. This is the right time to embark on the courageous journey of therapy.

Psychosynthesis is the process of synthesising and re- integrating those lost parts of ourselves—not only the painful facets of our past, but also the potential of who we could become.

Why choose to work with me?

I have practised yoga and meditation for over 40 years, Astrology as a psycho-spiritual tool for 35 years and traditional systems of healing like Ayurveda and Chinese medicine for over 25 years. I have also spend long periods of soul searching in ashrams (monastic yoga community) in India. I now include Psychosynthesis in my work after three and a half years of rigorous training,

I continue to work holistically when working with clients as I believe that mind, feelings and body all work together. Therapy is rarely a quick fix. The key to lasting change is establishing a strong therapeutic relationship and to work co-creatively towards agreed goals.

About me and my therapy practice

I use a variety of tools to help you gain insight into how you feel about your life, what you really want and what you don't want. I am there to support your world view and help you navigate the difficulties you encounter within it in ways that work best for you.

I have been trained in many techniques but the main goal of our work will be to build a good therapeutic relationship where we can work together to find the best way forward for you.

Most of our work will revolve around processing through talk therapy but there may be times when we need to use other tools like Emotional Freedom Technique, free drawing or free writing to unlock what may be getting in the way.

I have worked with a variety of clients particularly from the LGBTQ+ community and people living with challenging health conditions.

I have also worked with addictive behaviour and trauma but cannot work with alcoholism or drug addiction unless you are also in recovery.

I  work with eating disorders but cannot work with anorexia unless you are already under medical supervision.

Practice description

In our first session, we get to know each other to see if we want to work together. Sometimes it is not a good fit so I may refer you on to someone more appropriate for your needs.

We will also agree to how we will work together and what the fee will be. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy but am usually able to reschedule a session if need be. Each session is 50 minutes long and the standard fee is £60.

Currently I am only working online but may be able to offer a mixture of online and in person depending on the time of the year.

Once we agree to work together, I will expect a minimum of 6 sessions after which we can decide if the work is beneficial to you or not.

Sessions may be cancelled if I am away but if you are away, the dates need to be agreed in advance or rescheduled otherwise sessions are chargeable.

I am always available for email enquiries but any personal matters need to be brought into the sessions. I am not generally available by phone.

I may be able to offer time limited in person sessions in central London or Brighton.

My first session

In the first session, I will invite you to talk about what brings you to therapy and why now. In the context of your presenting problem, I will ask you about your personal history including your upbringing, parenting, socio-economic background and heritage so that I get to know you. I usually record what you tell me in a passworded document on my computer in the first session but only make notes after the sessions thereafter.
