Availability
I currently have space for new clients and offer counselling both in person in Torquay and online across the UK. Sessions are 50 minutes and can be arranged weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels manageable for you.
Appointments are available during the day and some evenings. If I take time off, such as holidays, I’ll always let you know in advance and work with you to plan around it.
I offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for NHS staff and clients referred by GPs or trusted organisations. If you think you might be eligible, please feel free to ask.
You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear plan. You might just know that something feels off — that you’re tired of carrying everything alone. Whether you’re feeling anxious, burnt out, stuck in patterns, or simply overwhelmed by life, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.
I work with the support of my guide dog, Quella, who brings a calm and grounding presence to sessions. Many clients find her reassuring, though I’m always happy to accommodate those who prefer not to have her present.
If you’re ready to take the first step, I’d be glad to hear from you. You can reach out for a free 20-minute consultation or book a full session. Let’s talk about what’s going on — and how we can begin to make sense of it together.
About me and my therapy practice
I work with adults who are often seen as strong and capable — but inside, they’re exhausted. You might be navigating anxiety, burnout, low confidence, or the long shadow of trauma. Or maybe you’re simply trying to understand why life feels so hard, even when you’re doing your best.
My approach is down-to-earth, trauma-informed, and flexible. I don’t use jargon, and I don’t expect you to have it all figured out. We go at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you. For those who find talking difficult, I offer Sandtray Therapy — a creative, non-verbal way to explore feelings and patterns when words don’t come easily.
I bring both professional and personal experience to this work. I spent decades in the NHS, supporting people through crisis and helping staff cope with pressure and emotional strain. I also understand the impact of familial addiction, mental health challenges, and sight loss — experiences that shape the empathy, clarity, and respect I bring to every session.
Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about creating a space where you can pause, reflect, and reconnect with who you are. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after time away, you’re welcome here — just as you are.
You don’t need perfect words. You just need a place to begin.
Practice description
You’ve always shown up — for work, for family, for friends. But inside, it’s different: anxiety, burnout, low mood, or a sense that something’s missing. Maybe you suspect undiagnosed neurodiversity, or feel stuck in patterns shaped by trauma, stress, or past relationships.
I work with thoughtful, capable people who are emotionally worn out. You might be new to therapy, unsure where to begin, or tired of carrying everything alone. I offer warm, trauma-informed support that’s flexible, creative, and tailored to you — whether in person in Torquay, online, or by phone.
Together, we’ll explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. I bring a direct, grounded approach, blending professional expertise with lived experience. You don’t need a diagnosis to know something isn’t working. I help you make sense of anxiety, trauma, low mood, and the confusion that comes with feeling overwhelmed — offering practical strategies, clear insight, and real support.
Therapy isn’t about fixing you — it’s about helping you reconnect with who you are, in a way that feels safe, steady, and real. You don’t need perfect words or a clear plan. You just need a place to begin.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s take the first step together.
My first session
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance or have the perfect words. The first session is simply a chance for us to talk about what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together. It’s a gentle starting point — no pressure, no judgment.
You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help us understand your needs, and I’ll explain how therapy works so you know what to expect. If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, this session can help you decide.
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone or online if you’d like to ask questions before booking a full session. This is optional and designed to help you feel confident about taking the next step.
Your first full session is charged at £60 for 50 minutes, with concessionary rates available for NHS staff and referrals from partner agencies. Payment is requested in advance to secure your booking.
Sessions are available in person in Torquay, online, or by phone — whichever suits you best. If you have specific needs or preferences, I’m happy to adapt. My guide dog Quella is often present, offering a calm and reassuring presence — though I’m happy to accommodate if you’d prefer not to have her in the room.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need a place to begin. I’m here when you’re ready.
