About me and my therapy practice

I'm Vin, a Íø±¬ÃÅ qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor with a lifelong passion for helping people navigate change and growth in meaningful ways.

My approach draws primarily from person-centred and psychodynamic traditions. I believe deeply in your own capacity for healing and growth, while gently exploring how past experiences might be shaping present patterns. It's about holding space for who you are now, whilst understanding the threads that connect your story together.

I'm currently volunteering with a service supporting people facing addiction, work that has deepened my understanding of the challenges people carry and the transformative power of compassionate, non-judgmental support. For over a year, I've walked alongside clients navigating complex emotional and behavioural change.

Counselling with me is a space to pause and breathe - where thoughts, feelings, and struggles can be explored without pressure or judgment. Many people come during times of transition, loss, new beginnings, or simply to understand themselves better. There's no right or wrong reason.

Being heard with genuine kindness can bring powerful shifts. Patterns begin to make sense. Old beliefs start to loosen. New choices feel possible. Even short-term work often leads to greater self-awareness and ease.

You don't have to go through it alone. With support, change becomes less frightening and growth becomes more possible.

Evening and weekend appointments available online.

Practice description

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore whatever you're carrying: whether that's anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply a need to understand yourself better.

As an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, I combine person-centred and psychodynamic approaches. This means I believe in your innate capacity for growth while gently exploring how past experiences might influence present patterns. Together, we'll hold space for who you are now whilst understanding the threads that connect your story.

My volunteer work with people facing addiction, homelessness or changing life events has deepened my appreciation for how much courage it takes to seek support, and how powerful compassionate, curious listening can be. I've learned that healing often happens not through fixing, but through being truly heard and understood.

Sessions are tailored to your needs and pace. Some clients come for short-term support during specific challenges, others for longer-term exploration. There's no pressure to commit to a particular timeframe - we'll work at a rhythm that feels right for you.

I'm particularly experienced with life transitions, relationship issues, anxiety, addiction, race, and the impact of difficult past experiences. Whatever brings you to therapy, my role is to provide a safe, consistent space where change becomes possible.

Online sessions available including evenings and weekends, making therapy accessible around your life and commitments.

You don't have to navigate this alone.

My first session

Your first session is an opportunity for us both to see if we're a good fit. There's no pressure, it's simply a chance to meet, share what's brought you to therapy, and explore how I might support you.

I'll ask about your current situation, what you're hoping to gain from counselling, and a bit about your background, but only what feels comfortable to share. This isn't an interrogation; it's a gentle conversation to help me understand your world and what support might be most helpful.

We'll also discuss practical matters: how often you'd like to meet, session times that work for you, and any questions you have about the process. I believe in transparency, so please ask anything that's on your mind about therapy, my approach, or what to expect.

Some people find the first session brings immediate relief, simply being heard can be powerful. Others need a few sessions to feel settled. Both are completely normal.

If after our first meeting you decide I'm not the right therapist for you, that's absolutely fine. Finding the right therapeutic relationship is important, and I can help signpost you to other support if needed.

The first session lasts the full 50 minutes and is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions. This reflects the time and attention I give to understanding your needs and preparing for our potential work together.

Most importantly, there's no commitment beyond that first hour - just an opportunity to begin.
