About me and my therapy practice

My name is Ash and I'm an integrative counsellor offering counselling online across the UK and face to face counselling in Bath (and soon Bristol.)

My areas of special interest are in trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, identity, neurodiversity, loss and grief.

As a queer, trans and neurodivergent counsellor, I work in a way that affirms your identity, offering complete acceptance, whether you are just exploring questions around these experiences, or have been established in your identity for a long time. I feel passionate about the importance of providing a counselling space where queer and neurodivergent people don't feel that they have to explain themselves or their identity.

Practice description

Being an integrative counsellor means that my training is in a variety of theories and approaches which I can draw upon in my work.

I can work both short-term and long-term. I work on a session by session basis, so you can be in control of the right timeframe of counselling for you.

I have a level 4 Diploma and Therapeutic Counselling and my training is primarily in Person-centred Therapy, Psychodynamic, Compassion Focused Therapy, Gestalt and IFS.

Person centred counselling puts you in charge of the counselling process, gestalt works in the here and now, focusing on developing self-awareness and an authentic connection between client and counsellor. Lastly, IFS allows us to work with 'parts' of self, if this is something that resonates for you.

I’m also passionate about neuroscience, as this allows us to work with an awareness of how and why we respond to everything from our own thoughts and sensations to traumatic experiences.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues

Types of therapy
