About me and my therapy practice

As an Integrative Counsellor, I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic theories to help us explore your feelings and begin to understand them. Whatever it is that brings you to counselling will be met with care and compassion. I won't offer advice or solutions; instead, I hope to help you understand yourself better through exploring the deeper patterns, emotions, and relationships that shape who you are.

An integrative approach allows me to be responsive to what you bring to our sessions, working to understand your current feelings and challenges, and also being curious about how your past experiences may affect you.

My aim is to offer you a confidential, therapeutic space where you can open up and share any thoughts and feelings, perhaps things you can't currently talk about openly. Together, we can navigate the challenges you are facing, whether that be anxiety and current worries, or past trauma which you may be carrying.

My work is grounded in the belief that growth and healing happen through safe, genuine connection, so a therapeutic relationship is key.

Practice description

In our sessions, you’ll find a calm, non-judgmental and confidential space where your story is met with compassion and curiosity — not pressure or expectation. Whether you’re coping with the impact of past trauma, struggling to feel grounded in the present, or simply seeking to understand yourself more deeply, I’ll walk alongside you at your pace, at times helping you to delve deeper into your thoughts and feelings.

Clients often come to counselling with anxiety, feeling low, or struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings. I provide support in a compassionate way, allowing us to be gently curious about how you're feeling now, as well as your past experiences or relationships.

I have experience working within a Trauma Model, which focuses on you feeling safe and stabilised before we explore the trauma itself. If you come to counselling having experienced a trauma, working in a trauma-informed way enables us to explore your experiences whilst holding them in the therapeutic relationship.

Throughout our work, we will reflect on things we have explored to see how they might help you cope with current challenges and experiences, hopefully making them feel easier to navigate.

My first session

I offer a complimentary initial 15-minute phone call for you to ask any questions and for us to explore how we might work together.

After that call, you can decide if you'd like to proceed with counselling sessions together, but there's no pressure. Finding the right counsellor, who you feel you can open up with, is important.

Following the initial phone call, counselling sessions are 50 minutes long and offered at the same time each week.

Online sessions are held on Teams, and a unique link will be emailed to you ahead of our first session.

During our first session together, we will complete an assessment where you can share what brings you to counselling, so I can better understand how to support you.

I work with clients on an open-ended basis, so work can be short-term or longer-term. We will review our work regularly to ensure it is meeting your needs.
