About me and my therapy practice
You may feel that you need support or that you have lost your peace - I want you to know that I am here for you.
I want you to feel heard and know that you are not alone in whatever it may be that you are facing. I believe that by gaining further insight through counselling, you can take control, build self-awareness and gain self-acceptance for a more fulfilling future.
It is normal to enter counselling with a feeling of uncertainty and I appreciate that stepping out for help may be a big step for you. I will walk alongside you throughout your therapeutic journey, offering you a safe and non-judgmental space to work at a pace that suits you.
I tailor my approach to ensure that the therapy you receive meets your needs and is personal to you. I provide a kind, warm, empathic and curious presence to aid greater understanding and empowerment.
Experience
I have worked with clients dealing with challenges such as bereavement, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, anger, depression, anxiety, work related stress, bullying, addiction, bipolar disorder, trauma, suicidal ideation, negative self-image, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), domestic violence, loneliness and post-traumatic stress (PTS).
I have volunteered on various bereavement support helplines as well as working on a helpline for first responders such as NHS workers and the Police.
Training
Key training that I have received relates to trauma awareness, bereavement, high stress and anxiety, hoarding, mental health, inquest procedure, gambling, rape and sexual assault, self-harm, coaching and developing others, self-care, loneliness and isolation, domestic abuse, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Military culture, transition and adjustment.
Please get in touch via my Íø±¬ÃÅ contact form or via my website - I also offer a free 15-minute no obligation phone call to explore your aims for counselling and how I may be able to help you. I can also answer any questions that you may have.
Practice description
I work predominantly using the person-centred approach, focussing on self-development in the ‘here and now’. Working collaboratively, we can create a trustworthy and supportive bond to aid in navigating through your challenges.
Together, we can explore your lived experiences, thoughts, emotions and aspirations. We can identify and work towards overcoming obstacles that may be holding you back, aiding in personal growth. I will be with you every step of the way for as long as you need.
