About me and my therapy practice
I work integratively, which means I draw from more than one therapeutic tradition to respond flexibly to your needs. At the core of my practice is the person-centred approach, which holds a deep respect for your autonomy, your inner resources, and your capacity for growth.
In person-centred therapy, the relationship between therapist and client is key. I offer a consistent space where you are met with empathy, honesty, and acceptance. I won’t offer quick solutions or try to fix you. Instead, I’ll offer a steady presence where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, without judgement or pressure. Over time, this can help you access parts of yourself that may have felt hidden, disconnected, or silenced.
Alongside this, I integrate psychodynamic thinking into my work. This means I pay close attention to the emotional patterns and internal conflicts that may be rooted in early relationships or past experiences. Sometimes we find ourselves reacting strongly to a situation, repeating familiar relational dynamics, or struggling with feelings we don’t fully understand. Psychodynamic work helps us explore where these responses come from and why they might have developed. Gaining this kind of insight can be a powerful step towards self-understanding and emotional change.
My sessions are led by you, and we go at a pace that feels manageable and safe. Some people come to therapy with a clear issue they want to address, such as anxiety, grief, or a recent life event. Others come with a more general sense that something isn’t right—perhaps feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of who they are.
I work both short-term and long-term, depending on what feels right for you. In short-term work, we might focus on a particular issue you’re facing. In longer-term therapy, we have the opportunity to explore your inner world more deeply, uncover patterns, and work through complex or longstanding challenges.
Practice description
Sessions are 50 minutes long and take place once a week in person.
In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and how we might work together. You don’t need to have all the answers—this is simply a chance to see how it feels to talk and whether working with me feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure to commit beyond that session.
You’re welcome to come for short-term or open-ended therapy, depending on your needs. Some people come for a few weeks to focus on a specific issue, while others choose longer-term work to explore more deeply.
I offer a calm, consistent and confidential space where you can talk openly. We’ll go at your pace, and there’s no expectation for you to come with anything ‘prepared’.
